Bitcoin Harbor is up and open for business!   We are a marketplace where users can buy and sell goods and services for Bitcoins.  Come check us out at www.bitcoinharbor.com.

Buyers can feel secure buying at Bitcoin Harbor.  We hold your payment until your item should have arrived.  You always have a chance to get a refund if the seller never ships your item.

Sellers who send their items can always get paid so long as they keep proof of shipping or delivery.

Because we are not an auction site, sellers can set their prices and are free to change them to reflect the current price of Bitcoins.  Sellers can also control how fast they get paid by choosing shipping methods which provide tracking information.

Here are a few features we offer:

Safety
  • We hold payment until the transaction is finished.
  • Buyers are refunded their payment if the Seller never ships their item.
  • Sellers who keep their shipping receipts can always get paid.
  • Feedback system lets users know who they're doing business with.

Security
  • Designed from the ground up with security in mind.
  • All user input carefully sanitized to foil SQL injection.
  • Our database is kept secure and is never shared outside the company.

Convenience
  • Make a purchase with a simple button click.
  • Any user can sell an item using one simple form.
  • Easy MyBitcoin integration for user friendly checkout.
  • Send Bitcoins directly from your client if you don't have a MyBitcoin account.
  • You never pay any fees unless your item is bought.

Come check out the marketplace at www.bitcoinharbor.com!  We are excited to be part of the Bitcoin economy.

Yeah, I think the logo kicks ass, very classy/classic looking.   Site design is smooth, adwords are cleanly placed, and there is a collectible shirt on there http://www.bitcoinharbor.com/view/3428500 I have collectible rock shirts, I might test and put one up, shipping would be quick, hmm.

as an old, ex-eBay hand, i feel obligated to point out that there is a difference between your ToS:

Quote
Sellers who keep their shipping receipts can always get paid.

and this:

Sellers who keep their shipping receipts will always get paid.

what if a buyer claims the package was empty, but the seller has all receipts?  who decides?  how?

just sayin'...

Good question!  Our dispute process is not perfect but we think it's pretty solid.

Basically we hold payment until the buyer should have received their item (a value chosen by the seller) and then give the buyer a window to submit a complaint if they didn't receive their item.  If they don't complain, the seller gets paid automatically.

If there's a complaint, we ask the seller for proof of shipping.  Any seller who can provide adequate proof of shipping (i.e. correct shipping method, to the correct address, etc) will get paid.  We encourage sellers to provide valid tracking numbers ahead of time to streamline the process.

You can read our FAQ for more about that dispute process at www.bitcoinharbor.com/faq#16

Looks good so far.  The Captcha seems to be a little too aggressive though.  The cut/paste is fine, but the images themselves are too distorted and seem to fail even when correct.

this type of thing will always have too many problems with people scamming tbo,

what happens when someone wants to return the goods

what happens when someone returns an empty box claiming it was the goods

what happens when the seller ships an empty box?

which ever rule you enforce the scam will be on the other side

ie protect the buyer.. the seller will be scammed.. protect the seller and the buyer will be scammed.

it just doesnt work

May I ask if it is legal to sell Key codes for activating programs to run on your pc ? On your web site I see some of them being sold. Just a question before I decide to buy one of them.

Thanks.

Most of the codes are MSDN or other types of 'non-resalable' activation codes.  They usually work for a few weeks to a few months then de-activate.  I do not recommend buying any codes that do not come without the physical genuine certificate with the code on it.

I agree, I would imagine they are MSDN.

Glad to see some discussion!

In response to Superform, obviously we can't make it completely impossible for anyone to ever get scammed - any online marketplace necessarily has this problem, eBay included, before they were big enough to refund everyone from their own pockets. Maybe down the road ^_^.

What we have done at Bitcoin Harbor is made scamming as difficult as we can. At the end of the day, it's the seller who has the power to do this, because yes - they could ship a box full of rocks that weighs the same as the product and thus have proof of shipping. That takes a lot of effort, though, and the seller is certainly going to get negative feedback as a result. So this can't really be done systematically very well. Responsible sellers will be able to build up a good reputation through our feedback system and shouldn't have any worries about scams one way or the other.

At AnonX - we've got categories ready to roll out, once we've got enough items on the site to fill them.

Oh, and about the software codes. If we get any complaints we'll certainly look into it, but we don't feel it's our job to police postings unless something is really obviously illegal. For what it's worth, the seller sells the same products on eBay, and has an excellent reputation.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
