Bitkey USB Bootup compatibility?

Hello everyone,

Apologies first and foremost if I'm in the wrong section, looked and searched and only could find the technical section to fit my question. Question regarding the compatibility of making a USB with a Bitkey bootup. If I created my Bitkey Bootup USBs using Windows 10, would they work if I switched back to Windows 8.1? I'm relatively new to Cryptocurrency and just recently decided to start small, I considered using an online wallet but am more comfortable with using a cold storage wallet for the sake of security. I attempted to make a cold wallet when I was running Windows 8.1, first with a CD then USB (using Rufus) with no luck. I've now switched to Windows 10 and want to try making a cold wallet again but would love to switch back to 8.1 if I knew the cold wallet will work. Thanks for any help!

the only difference in newer versions of Windows is that you have to turn off "Fast Boot". this feature in new windows versions is preventing booting from anything else including USB if i am not mistaken. use google for more information, i don't use Windows 10 or 8!

also i suggest using UUI https://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ it is the best and easiest tool for creating any linux distro live USB under windows. although i can not find BitKey among the list of supported distros, you may have to play around a little bit to make it work.
use the last option saying "Try Unlisted Linux ISO".

Thanks for the info, I noticed the issue with the Fast Boot but completely forgot to turn it off and instead took the long way around it though the Bitkey USB Bootup never popped up oddly enough. I'll have to give your other suggestion a shot, thanks again!

Bitkey was not tested enough and even though the source code is open, not enough developers check it, I honestly don't recommend it. If you want some real security, use Tails instead.
