Bitcoin disappeared from my adress

Hello everyone
First of all, I would like to say that I am an absolute newcomer here, and I have little idea how the world of virtual currencies works.... About a week ago I bought my first mBTC for $ 3OO. I got an address and received a private key on the email and when I looked at the blockchain one week ago, I saw there ony one transaction of $ 300 . During this week, I did not send my $ 3OO to anywhere, nor did I enter my private code into any application. When I looked at my blockchain address yesterday, I saw there two transaction and my address has now 0 bitcoin. Could anyone please tell me if someone stole my bitcooin or what happened ... And if I still have my private key, can I ask for my bitcoons back?

If you see an unauthorized transaction then yes, your wallet has been compromised and unfortunately, bitcoin transactions are irreversible and pseudonymous so getting your bitcoins back is pretty much impossible.

But what intrigues me is where did you buy these coins? If I understood correctly, You bought bitcoins from X and X gave you the address and private key funded with those coins through email which is highly dangerous as it can easily be hacked. If it is, You are most probably been scammed by X.

Sending/recieving private keys via email is a big big BIG mistake.
Email is unencrypted. Additionally emails can be forged, intercepted, ... you name it.
Email is an outdated protocol (from the 1980's). Just because its used everywhere, it doesnt mean its safe.
Of course its not that unsecured if you were encrypting your mails with PGP.. but im assuming you didn't.

If you didn't initiate the second transaction.. then yes. Unfortunately it seems your BTC's have been stolen.

And if I still have my private key, can I ask for my bitcoons back?

Unfortunately not.
Your private key is associated to the address.
With a private key of address A you can only spend from this address A. Everyone with access to a private key can sign transactions (send btc's) from the corresponding address.


For the next time i would suggest to make sure your PC is clean from any malware.
Its not certainly because your mail was spyed on. It may be 'just' an infected PC.
To be absolutely sure you should wipe your HD (after backing important files up) and start with a fresh installed OS.
And never ever recieve/send private keys via mail!

Same question on where did he buy those bitcoins and if someone did give private key to the wallet then for sure there would be no other suspect but the one whom you do buy those bitcoins. If you do buy on exchange itself they don't have that kind of system because you are just buying bitcoins and asking for private keys for your wallet isn't possible. If you do bought bitcoins into other user and tell you to give you bitcoin with private keys of your wallet then you have been fooled.

I am just going to contact web shop, where I bought bitcoin.
And because only this web site has my private keys and adress on their server, I propably suspect who stolen my bitcoin because I made no transaction with my coin during the week.
If I dont get back no reply from them I will publish the web adress of this e-shop.

Why did you spend $300 on something you don't understand?

You only own Bitcoin if you and only you know the private key. You should have transfered the Bitcoins to an address only you control, for instance by sweeping the address into a newly installed Electrum wallet on your own computer. Sweeping means transfering the entire balance of the address to a new address (don't confuse this with importing the private key, that doesn't take away the risks).

If you want to buy Bitcoin again, I suggest you use a legit exchange, one that sends the Bitcoin to your address instead of sending you a private key they know too.
You overpaid too: you paid $300 for $213 worth of Bitcoin. It's normal for sellers to want to earn something, and pay for some fees, but you can do much better than this.

Web site where I bought was running for 4 years without problem.
I knew that I paid extra fee for bitcoin, as I said I bought it only for curiosity in order to find out how it all works ....

I believe your bitcoin was stolen. Next time get a good cold storage wallet like Mycellium (or Electrum) where you can generate your own private keys without fear of a third party sneaking into your wallet and stealing your coins.

What kind of hacking attack? Attack on their system where lots of btc's are stolen or just from your account only? but since your private keys are stored in your email, your funds have a 99% chance of getting stolen.

Before anything else you should verify their credibility first.
Can we know the name of this site? If it were really running for 4 years without a problem, it should have some kind of reputation here.

"We got hacked" is the oldest trick in the book. Sending private keys through email is very risky, and if they still have access to the private key a week later, that's even worse.

It was hacking attack on the website where crypto currencies were provided for cash.
The internal database of this website on their servers was hacked  and private keys and adresses for more customers were stolen.
I bought bitcoin for curiosity only for 3OO dolars - it is nothing by comparision  to people whose bought over this website bitcoin and other crypto currencies for 50K dolars and more.

It's very unfortunate that your first bitcoin buying experience isn't a nice one. Hacking a website which causes loss of bitcoins is quite a rare incident. It is prudent to choose the best and most stable site to engage in any bitcoin transaction. Also, spending a lot of time reading more about bitcoins and any related cryptocurrency matter would put you in a stronger position on how to safeguard yourself against possible scams, losses, etc.

i's really an astonishing post because you clearly said that you're very new to Bitcoin and stuff but still you spent $300 on something that you weren't even sure about? You should have studied the cryptoes, and visited this forum before choosing the web shop that stole your BTC.

I think there's really a lot of people doing this, getting involve in something they really don't know because of the hype.

Looks like OP's wallet has been hacked and unfortunately he won't be able to get his funds back.
