Bitcoin hasn't fallen too much in the last week. The market is being revised recently. Maybe in 2018, governments will have some policies to compare with the special currency policy. Investors will be cautious at this time. I think they will be a small price trend.

The bitcoin prices changes partly determined by supply and demand. There is also partly determined by expectation. In predictable ways the changes of prices also affected according to the time of year in response to events such as holidays and vacation time. And the droping is also affected by  growing of switch away from bitcoin to other cryptocurrency.

I think this drop is due to the recent huge selling done with bitcoins. Holidays have just past, and that was the time when people might have thought to encash or spend their bitcoin holdings. And when there is a greater number of sellings of bitcoin i.e. more availability of bitcoin in the market, its value decreases. Also the prices went really high which made speculative sellers sell off their holdings.
Also, because the sellings were made by individuals and not some giant company, the fall in price is not very huge but marginal. Its kind of stable at a certain point.
With start of new year, hopefully new users will join bitcoins, may be investers may come in, and old holders shall try to regain their hold which will again create a virtual scarcity of bitcoins in the market and in result the prices will spike up. Sooner or later, the prices are again going to grow and probably stabalise for a good while.

I think because it made a big gain short time so people cashed out to make profits. More ever people cashed out on winter holidays to celebrate new year and other celebrations.

Just don't too worrying about this, I think this is a quite naturally, and I think.. it wouldn't be long for bitcoin price will tends to lead a higher direction again. After the holidays, there will be many more people again who would be focusing again on bitcoin (buying,investing,trading, etc), until the price can be moving up again.

I would call this more of a consolidation period than a sell off, but then again, I didn't buy at $20K, so my view may be different.

Bitcoin will still go up, because 2018 is still a bull market, and I think bitcoin will break through $40, 000 this year.

this is mostly the end of the year cash out and lack of buyers at the same time because everyone is off and enjoying their holiday.
we are also practically at the end of a very long bull run which needed to stop and let everyone to take out their profit wait for the market to come down and reach its bottom and then start accumulating at the bottom to prepare for the next bull run rally. all these steps need time and should be taken.

This is normal, bitcoin has risen so much, and a proper correction is a good thing for the market, and I'm sure bitcoin will continue to rise.

I think the recent price drop was a price correction. There was a bullish event last year for Bitcoin and it even reach $20k. Before Christmas, people converted their Bitcoin to fiat so the price fell down. No worries, I think Bitcoin will grow again this year.

Bitcoin mostly drops during holidays , lots of people withdraw their Bitcoin for their celebration expenses. But when holidays are over Bitcoin will naturally rise again.

Bitcoin is dropping only when demand is decreased and now a days mostly people are doing transaction due to which demand is decreasing and as demand is decreasing then price is start dropping. As people again start investing in BTC then price will be again start increasing.

This is mainly because of the difference between supply and demand. I think most of the huge bitcoin holders are selling their bitcoin to invest in other coins. Mostly on ETH. Most probably in next few weeks, bitcoin will rise up again to the moon.

Yeah,the holidays are the reason for recent price fall with bitcoin,but it will be stable in the coming days.The price dump and bump always happen with bitcoin but the price will surely recover from the dumps soon.SO it is better to buy some coins because I hope the price will start to rise in the coming days.

I do not know for sure what the main cause of bitcoin is going down, because many things can make bitcoin down. but I rather rate, that bitcoin drops due to Christmas and the end of the year, and this happens every year.

because it is not dropping

nearly a month ago price was below $10,000 and still in the 4 digit price levels and now it is in the 5 digit price levels and above $10,000. this is called a rise.
2 months ago it was a lot less and so on until 1 year ago which price was barely even $1000 and was struggling to exit the 3 digit price and enter 4. and now price is 10+ times more than that day. this is also called a rise.

Up and down in bitcoun price is depends upon demand of bitcoin in market. May be due to price fluctuation many people's selling their bitcoin and thats why down in price seen from ladt few days.
Other factors like regulations of governments and acceptance of bitcoin in routine exchange, also affect bitcoins value. As bitcoin is open to all, no one has control over it. So people scared to invest in it.
