So, I finally got my 100 GPU mini farm up and running.. trying to control the dust has been a challenge, so I wanted to ask you folks..how do you go about cleaning/maintaining your GPUs? Do you shut a rig off and individually clean each GPU? or do you just blast them with an air gun without taking them offline? The more dust being collected under each fan means more wear and tear for sure.. so I'm not sure how to approach this lol

setup filtered intakes if the configuration allows it...as a first step... then I would proceed with a weekly 3 machine cleaning, so every month you rotate all of them.

quick blasts with an air compressor. be careful not to overspin fans. and watch out as air compressors can spit water droplets sometimes. if youre worried about that use canned air.

This works for getting the dust around the heatsink. To get the dust under the fans I take them off and wipe them down.

One of the best things I did was buy a robot vacuum to clean the floors daily - I originally bought a Roomba but really it's a POS, and I ended up getting ones of these that is much better and much cheaper:

Keep in mind I'm not recommending this for your house, there are other much better ones for that, but in terms of just getting the job done and working well on concrete floors, this thing is a champ.  You'll be shocked at what a difference managing the dust on the floors will make on the overall dustiness of the space.

One things to note - my spaces are relatively large and I also had the genius idea to put more than one in the same space, but that doesn't work just stick with one, trust me.  I can't count how many times you come back and find them both dead because they were trying to use the same charger, etc.
