I believe that the bitcoin community mentality right now is wrong. We should care less about the price, bitcoin is a not a get rich quick. Instead we should focus more about the development and the technology (SegWit, LN, Schnorr Signatures, Confidential transactions etc.) because at the end of the day, If the development doesn't go any further, the price won't go anywhere either.

Well said for this thread. People now a days prefer to focus and look unto the amount. Focusing on what we could just gain from it. The point of stating what is needed is good. I hope this thread could widen up the views of other bitcoin users.

I agree somewhere along the lines the true uses of bitcoin has become lost many now view bitcoin and other crypto currencies as a way to get rich.

Unfortunately, most of the bitcoin community are at the moment concerned about how rich the currency is supposed to be making them and not about the technologies at all and with the developers always stalling things, i believe any development will take a very long time in coming in the bitcoin network.

First statement is totally true. To quote it, people's mindset towards bitcoin is to gain wealth at the instant snap. Well,typically, it's all about developing this site and further enhancement. When you say Bitcoin, what comes into people's mind is that money is running towards them. That's basically the mentality.

I totally agreed with OP on this one the general perception of people is to buy  bitcoin at low and sell at high dumping it massively invariably crashes the price as it was experienced presently.
Bitcoin is a long time investment and we should spread the good news and benefits about bitcoin globally as a decentralized currency.

I agree with your opinion that the price of bitcoin is only temporary, but later it is important that the price of bitcoin in future is always kept high and then we should concentrate investment and the bitcoin will last longer.

In this way, the price is actually a very minor element. The key is the technology and application of the block chain. Only the faster development of technology, and more powerful community construction, the more practical application, bit currency will be more valuable.

Definitely agree with you. But you have to admit that this kind of mentality brought upon this kind of crazy market, and this market brought upon bitcoin's popularity.
If this didn't happen, only a few percent of users now would know bitcoin. We wouldn't be able to push out it's limits and we wouldn't known what it lacks. Developers might not even think of those upgrades you mentioned.

I agree I feel like the lightning network will have a positive impact on BTCs price. Lastly It's more than normal for bitcoin to fall I hope the newbies learn about price corrections and educate themselves more about the technology in hand (Blockchain...) and not only look as bitcoin as wallet pump.

I agree. Upgrades are important not the prices. Through the developments, Bitcoin can be more what it has now in the near future. That is why no matter what will happen I will still love Bitcoin because of it's idea, technology and purpose. New comers are into Altcoins because they are cheaper but still they need Bitcoin to trade. I am one of those people who keep tokens from Altcoins but I am still hoping that upgrades are on it's way to fix anything in the Bitcoin system issues because I am worried about it getting worse. To be honest Bitcoin is the only asset that gives me financial freedom since I am a less fortunate and unemployed person therefore I will support for the good of this Bitcoin community. Though I am not a trader only a hodler and I hold Bitcoins depending on my situation whenever I need it for emergency. I am not actually a buy low sell high guy like those in Altcoins because I don't even have a capital. I think high price is just a bonus but yeah depends on someones mentality.

The market is full of impetuosity now. There are too many speculators in the market, which is of course detrimental to the development of bitcoin and the community. I hope that in the next 2018, we have a little more research on technology and less about the price of some bitcoins. I hope you can leave a lot of people who really care about the block chain technology.
