We've had a lot of things happen in 2017, and now that it's 2018.. What will the main challenges be for January? And for the whole year be? Will we meet a goal like $25K, or will we have multiple forks this year again to crush the qualms?

Well, the main problems that i see as of now is the increasing number of altcoins that pump and dump. Which attracts a lot of investors more since this can give these greedy bastards a lot of profit. Also, the high fees and transaction confirmation time frames are major players in the negative side of bitcoin. But if the lightning network fixes these problems, then i think that this may really pull in a massive number of investors this year and make bitcoin break records again faster than before. That's just my opinion though.

The main challenge for Bitcoin in January is not to give way to the bears who are betting it would tank. It should resume to rise, instead, reversing this short time bearish trend.

I think it will be both an exciting and nerve-wracking year. Prices are going to continue to increase, but we will see more regulation and taxation come down from most countries.

What problems can be in bitcoin? The main problem will be if he very much loses in value, which is unlikely

I am confident that 2018 will be very challenging for Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency community as a whole. The major challenge for Bitcoin in January is with a blueprint of what to do with scalability issues so that transaction costs can go down. We'll see what's going to happen in the Bitcoin scene. we can only hope and speculate.

Bitcoin haven't hit a high price for this month as compare to what we have experienced last nov. And dec of 2017. Maybe this isn't a good.month for bitcoin considering also the high charges. But let's not lose hope and stay optimistic this is just the start of the year, bitcoin have a long way to go. Surely it will recover from all of this.

this January will probably still be as usual but for the whole bitcoin will eventually exceed $ 30K and it will happen maybe at the end of 2018 so now you buy it is an appropriate step

Not only in january, in general in 2018, the main challenge will be about other altcoins ruining bitcoin's dominance of market. Bitcoin will give an important examination to show it's the king of the market, nobody else.

January is a new beginning for bitcoin and all cryptos I'm sure fluctuations should be expected there's maybe a lot of hardfork that will happen but surely bitcoin value will continue to appreciate. The popularity of bitcoin will surely help the demand to increase much higher with will result to lack of supply in the future and with this value needs to be adjusted

Some experts say that it is a bubble waiting to burst because its supply and demand is not equal. There is a huge demand for it and it lacks money to supply it. Another thing is the rise of other cryptocurrencies like Rippler.

Scaling, Transaction fees. One of their Main challenges for 2018 would be giving out solutions to the current and existing problems that the Bitcoin Community faces. If they will not give enough solutions or fork updates on how to handle these problems, some-just a guess of course- , Some might jump to another crypto which gives a better user experience than Bitcoin, but let's have faith and trust to the Bitcoin Developers, they will not let this happen and they will surely give solutions to these problems.

At the last days of December 2017, we experience continuous deflation of value of bitcoin. The said deflation of bitcoin value might associated with the holiday season.
Unfortunately, many investors who bought bitcoins while its value increases above $17,000 experience a great lost. This deflation of value might give impact on the first quarter of 2018.  Those people who experienced great lost might loose hope and confidence in bitcoin and winning back their trust is a challenge.  The good thing about this is during the first week of January, the bitcoin value start to recover.  Will we meet the goal of $25,000? Of course it is possible. If we trace the bitcoin milestone last year, the value between the first quarter compared to the bitcoin value on its last quarter shows a great difference.  The value increases for about 700%. If the bitcoin community will grow this year (2018), it is also possible to increase its value 700%.  Meaning, it will hit even more than $25,000.00

I think in 2018 we will get many advantages to invest in bitcoin from rising prices that will soar in 2018 as the increase in 2017 is experiencing a multiply increase, be patient to face the bitcoin price increase in 2018.

I think we are experiencing the challenge in bitcoin right now, we felt the high price and slow transaction process. Investors are little afraid about this situation and it may affect the bitcoins economy.

With the high price increase that bitcoin has, bitcoin call attention to many governments

Wall Street Buzz: Merrill Lynch Bans Bitcoin For Its Clients

Egypt's Top Cleric Declares Bitcoin Trading 'Unlawful'

South Korea Law Firm Fights New ‘Unconstitutional’ Crypto Trading Regulations

Will we meet a goal like $25K

We will probably exceed this price

or will we have multiple forks this year again to crush the qualms?

People are losing interest in these hard forks because they do not bring anything useful. Bitcoin Cash (although I do not like Bcash) was the one that attracted the most attention, but Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Diamond were a joke, not to mention the other hard forks

there are always lots of challenges ahead of bitcoin. but since you are focusing on the price so i will tell you the main price-related-challenge!
it is the weak hands that keep coming in bitcoin. whenever bitcoin price rises, which has been every single months lately, people see it as a good investment and mostly as a "get rich quick" thing. and so many of them are idiots with money at hand who want to become rich just because they bought bitcoin at some arbitrary price and whenever there is the smallest FUD saying the words "bubble", "Fraud", "crash",... they start thinking all their dreams are shattered and start dumping causing havoc on the market where only whales benefit.

I think we still have a big problem in transaction fees because when we want to send some amount, the fees are too high and some of us cannot accept this. maybe the fees can reduce a little but I think if we want to make sure the network is work properly then we need to pay some fees to give support the network. but I am sure that in the future, there will be another solution for this so we can send the amount with a good fee. for the fork, I think we can see much of hardfork that will happen in this year and I think we can get another free "bitcoin" like before and I think we can prepare for this so we can get free coin again.
