I will second waiting. The prices are supposed to drop the next few weeks. If I recall correctly, pricing was supposed to change mid-August but Canary let the pricing info out early. Again, if I recall correctly, wholesale pricing is supposed to be 0.1 BTC each.

I have been mining scrypt coins but if the USB erupter price does go done that much, I will be getting some. Remember, the wholesale price was 2.0 BTC a few months ago.
