You Will Help Many Animals In Need, By Helping Solve Our Bug

Intro

We are looking for an altcoin developer with experience in the bitcoin source code to fix a simple bug in the coinbase reward of our altcoin.

Some Info On The Coin

Veggie is a coin with a primary focus to help the animals. Animal charities often skim a large portion of donations off the top for executives, salaries and "expenses", with little real-world value reaching those in need. Veggie offers a way for people to mine a cryptocurrency and benefit animals in need without having to give a monetary donation. By mining Veggie, the user is creating 25% mining bonus which is given to a special fund that is used to help animals in need. Veggie transaction history is viewable to everyone on a public blockchain, so users of veggie can be sure they know where the coin is going. Veggie miners can benefit animal charities by mining in their sleep.

Our Development Team

Currently our development team comprises two developers who also work full time. due to our bug being time-critical, we have decided to offer a bounty to anyone who can fix our bug before we manage to in our free time.

The Bug

The code that the veggie developers wrote to split the mining reward between the wallets works for solo mining on the QT software.

It works by increasing the vector of outputs on the coinbase transaction to "2" rather than "1" and then simply giving 80% to the miner's output and 20% to the veggie fund's output. However, when mining in pools the fund section of the mining reward is never being created for some reason. It gets lost somewhere along the way. The 80% owed to the miner finds its way to the miner, but the 20% written into output number 2 never gets registered by the blockchain.

This is because the mining reward is generated differently when mining in pools than by the QT wallet software.

The developer who fixes our bug will have to work out where the difference is, and why it only works with the QT software - then provide a solution in code, and a brief explanation (roughly one page).

Your Reward

We are offering a large bounty of 10,000 Veggie coins and 0.03BTC to fix this bug - straight from the founders' pockets. At current difficulty levels, miners of veggiecoin are able to mine roughly 150 Veggie coins per day (That number is rapidly decreasing as the coin is gaining popularity fast). So roughly 66 days of Veggie mining and $400USD in bitcoin for what should be an afternoon's work for anyone familiar with the bitcoin code.

As soon as this bug is fixed, we will be listing the coin on exchanges and you can decide whether to hold or sell your reward.

Thanks to all who consider this bug. Your help is greatly beneficial to animals in need Smiley

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!
