DISCLAIMER: I know that it's Bitcoin forum, not emo forum. If you want to say 'don't become emo', then just don't post and leave this topic.

So I knew that I'm emo accidentally.

I pretty much love emo music. I'm thinking about style and I'm basically ready to buy necessary equipment.

But problem is: When I was 9 year old kid I've shown Emo article in Uncyclopedia to my mum. So she will probably get nervous. I don't have dad, I have only mum so it's easier to deal with it. I also thought all emos cut themselves but now I know these are fake emos. I want to tell my parents that emo is music genre and I like this music. These cutters don't even listen to emo music. I'm basically scared to say her that I'm listening to MCR and such and I'm going to write emo things and such. So how to deal with her?

Remember you are not talking on an "emo" website - we don't know your acronyms...

What does "emo" mean?    Undecided

It's music genre and subculture. And I don't want them to mistake me with metal or Satanist.

Maybe your still young.. although there is nothing wrong with being an emo it's just that I think as you grow older, you'll soon discover yourself more and be the best of what you are. Don't fret, you are all normal just live life doing good and without stepping on others just to get what you want.

My parents are very understanding about me being emo. My father and I share the same love with emo music and even metal and rock. I also make my appearance look like an emo.

I am emo when I was young. My parents accept me for what I am. But eventually when I am maturing, being emo was replace with a more decent man. Dont get me wrong, I still love songs that are emo, just the appearance though,.

My views to your situational struggles is you don't need to do anything to make your mom nervous. Maybe you should allow some time to understand by your what your situation as being emo. Emo is controllable so discuss your being emo to your mom in a gentle way full of love and full of compassion and passion.

So how to do it as safe as possible? How to show them that emo music directory that is on my computer and that emo ringtone on mine Nokia 3310? And how to say why I use make-up and why I dyed hair? Yes, I live in country where Nokias are still popular (somewhere in Europe). Hah, I use Nokia that's little older than me that will survive the end of the Solar System. Just take photos with real camera and use real MP3 player though. I like only old iPods with monochrome screen. These with color screen are so hard to use. I'm not poor kid, my parents are rich enough to buy me iPhone 7 but I love Snake II so much that will last until GSM gots turned off.

HAIL 3310! Here is photo of mine:

Yes, emos use Nokia 3310.

Why do you have to tell them? Do they accept you as you are? Putting a label on yourself won't change that.
Because they wonder why I still use old Nokia phone (not because I'm emo or drug dealer, I just want to use best phone ever made), why I dress up like that and why I listen to this music.

Maybe you can slowly tell her like make random casual comments about emo benefits like additional distressing and making you more productive with you days.  Give her some good example then she'll be more open minded.
