COINBASE - Why will you not address this. I cannot withdraw my funds because you will not verify the bank account it has to go to. Everytime I try to withdraw it says the account will be verified in 1 to 2 business days. It has been 2 weeks now and I can’t even initiate a withdrawal. COINBASE – DO SOMEHTHING AND STOP INGORING ME!!!!! - I have tried contacting you through support tickets numerous times, I have tried your priority ticket support many times, I have posted on Facebook and Twitter and I have posted on Bitcoin forums but you still ignore this. I hope this is a lesson to anyone who wants to use Coinbase how they ignore you as a long term user when you want to withdraw your funds. For 2 weeks now I have been trying to withdraw money but I just get a message saying your bank account will be verified in 1 to 2 days. Sorry Coinbase this is just a joke!! - Ticket number is 3133894

I don`t use Coinbase for the same reason for about 2 years.Perhaps you could   withdraw your funds from Coinbase to bank account, but not directly.Just send your crypto to localbitcoins and sell them for wire transfer.By the way,it`s a little bit ridiculous to post on facebook, twitter and this forum, and wait for Coinbase support to respond. The Coinbase customer support system used to be faster in the past.

Thanks - yes I know its futile but just so dam frustrating. I note that exchanges like CEX.io actually have someone respond on this forum but Coinbase are just too arrogant to do that.

I have thought about pulling out the money in crypto but their rates for GBP's which my money is trapped in is pathetic. At one stage last week when I looked at it they were wanting the equivalent 19,000 USD per Bitcoin when the average rate was around 14,500 USDs. I can't use there exchange because I would need to wait forever for approvals. So my choices are wait it out or get seriously ripped off in converting back to crypto.

Either way I do not see why Coinbase with their greed of taking on massive amounts of new customers should be allowed to get away with it and people need to know the facts about how they treat customers like me.

Another 2 days pass and

1.    Still no response from Coinbase
2.    Still unable to withdraw my money as it has said the account will be verified in 1 to 2 business days - (over 2 weeks now)
3.    Still cannot initiate a withdrawal

Great business Coinbase!! keep up the good work and yet people must read this and see that you don't allow people to withdraw their money

Might sound like a silly question, but have you tried calling them? It's not the easiest thing to find on their site, but this may be a better option than email or support tickets. Support number is: 1 (888) 908-7930

Good luck.

Yes I have tried that - probably in excess of 500 times! All you get is a call drop out and a generic message saying number is unavailable

Dam if it was that only that easy!!

Quick edit on above - I finally got through on the Coinbase number - and of course if was out of hours - not only that the recorded message says that their staff will not address individual questions of withdrawal matters - guess what - they tell you to raise a support issue - GOOD ONE COINBASE

There is a whole in the bucket dear liza ............ and the crap goes on!!!!!

Coinbase is one of the good and most people's choice web wallet but they would not share the private key to the users at all. As you said support team will help him. Sometime due to network error and cache dump some pages may not work.
So he has to clear the cache and try once still it is not working means he has to check with the support team then. It will be rectified with this steps alone I think.

It will not stay that way if they continue like this. For the avoidance of doubt it has nothing to do with the cache as I have tried several browsers. As for checking with the support team I have numerous support tickets that have gone unanswered for over 2 weeks. I have tried their priority support and these have all been ignored. I have tried their Facebook and Twitter pages and again nothing.

Sorry Coinbase I will continue to post these until you at least pay me the courtesy of addressing this problem!

Well Coinbase after 2 weeks send me this generic message

Hello,

Thank you for using Coinbase. We know you have a choice when it comes to digital currency services and we are grateful to have you as a valued customer.

In order for us to continue to be able to provide service to your account, please update your information via the following link: https://www.coinbase.com/verifications/identity/customer_info

Please note that your account's buy/sell privileges will be suspended if your account information has not been updated by January 14, 2018.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Respectfully,
Coinbase Team

I log on and it says I have 3 forms of ID - so what the hell is this all about

And yet after weeks they have totally ignored my support tickets and I cannot get money out

The shit goes on! - there is a hole in the bucket dear liza ........

Don't under any circumstances use Coinbase to purchase anything

I've Had Hundreds of £ stuck in there for nearly 6 months

You cannot no matter all the fake claims pripbaly from coinbase employees withdraw a penny

You will find it is all BS, I'm leaning towards this being a huge scam/fraud perhaps they're using our our funds for there own gains or worst

I've also lost £300 because I couldn't withdraw or sell or decided I cannot withdraw I may as well just leave it there until I research how to withdraw

It's terrible please people do not use it I still haven't managed to get a single penny back

Their responses are bots, there advice and support is false

Thanks for informing us here. Always try to use that exchange or any other service which have a good reviews in the public and which have a very good customer support system. If they do not have both of them then it is not good to use it and if you will use then it will be a harm to your wealth.
Everyone know that coinbase has a number of restrictions for their customers with different ways and no one know that if any mistake happen from any person so in this case anyone can lose their money.
Your problem is not dangerous, I hope they will sooner contact you and they will verify your account.

Exactly. And even if you need a web wallet, coinbase can be an unreliable and pretty bad service to use. It is known to have frozen people's accounts in the past even if they only use it as a wallet, as soon as it detects some kind of involvement with gambling sites. It's better to use a trustless wallet like Electrum if you don't want to buy/sell.

If you do want to buy/sell on coinbase, they really do take their time with verifying bank accounts. OP seems to have that issue as well.

What I don't understand is their support, it's notorious ever since the trading volume on their platform spiked due to the run up last year. Instead of addressing this issue fully, they have moved onto expanding their services, instead of fixing it. If that's the case, then there is virtually no advantages to using coinbase in my opinion.

Using coinbase as a wallet for 2 years and never ever tend to buy btc or eth with them linking out my bank account since i do know their history when it comes to delays or other transaction issues into other similar users.Ive been using it as a wallet and recently they block it and discovered that ive been using it on gambling which it do happen on the very beginning when i was just starting on crypto but they lately discovered about that involvement. Luckily i pulled out my btc even though it isnt too big but still a considerable amount.

It'd be nice if OP gave an update as to whether this has been resolved or not.

Coinbase just nuked my account, so he's lucky they're even still letting him be a customer.  Hopefully his funds got unfrozen.  They're definitely not a scam exchange.  In fact I'd say they're one of the most reputable as far as problems like this eventually getting resolved in favor of the customer.  I'd probably still be using them had they not deleted my account, but oh well.  Compare them to places like Yobit and they end up looking like Goldman Sachs (lol).

When I had my Coinbase account I had to provide ID, so that's normal.  Anytime these exchanges let you deal in fiat they have to take these KYC measures, which have only gotten more stringent over the years--and I suspect that's not going to reverse.  And frankly bitcoin needs exchanges like them, since they're a legit place to buy and sell it and thereby pump liquidity into the market.

I only just say this but I am happy to update everyone on this. The actual dates etc I cannot remember but what I can say is that after waiting for several weeks I gave up on trying to withdraw any money from Coinbase. I ended up buying Bitcoin on Coinbase and transferring the Bitcoin to Localbitcoins. I remember that in the time I transferred to Localbitcoins the Bitcoins price was falling fast. I held on and it fell even more and it cost me quite a lot of money (around 25% loss)  by the time I actually managed to sell it on LocalBitcoins.

The point here was that Coinbase failed me when I tried to withdraw fiat cash to a Bank account. I had been fully verified with them for about a year and a half. They eventually got back with half baked excuses etc which did not help me get my money back. Yes Coinbase are reputable and probably an ethical exchange but their inability to deal with fiat money at the beginning of this year has put me off them forever.

Sad to hear on what happen to you where you might able to avoid that price decrease when you just able to withdraw fiat cash right of the moment but past is past and thing do happen even transfering your bitcoin into LBC doesnt make any changes but still it do results on a loss.

To be honest I am still a little concerned about Coinbase in that they want to have such a good reputation but you can not have that when you crap on your smaller customers. My issue was that my fiat money was held locked up in Coinbase for weeks without any communication from them.  At the time Coinbase were taking on new customers as fast as they could and developing their corporate products. The fact was that it was the greed of Coinbase that side tracked them and they ignored me as a long standing customer that had passed all their internal checks. On reflection - yes I would like a proper apology from Coinbase. I will allow response to this but afterwards will close this thread.

Don't listen to anyone telling you to withdraw bitcoin directly from a bookmaker to Coinbase.

1) It is against the Coinbase terms of service and has resulted in many accounts being shut down.

2) It is not wise to ask the one-third party to send your bitcoin directly to another third party as if anything goes wrong you are not involved in the transaction and will have to rely on one or both of them to try and help fix it. And in the case of a bookmaker to Coinbase, you can't get the book to talk to them or tell them where it came from for Coinbase to speak to the book.
