I am having difficulty getting my P104-100 to overclock well
If I set the memory to above +300, it just kinda falls back to factory default settings by itself. It doesn't crash, just goes back to default clock it seems (based on hashrate in Claymore). Anything under +300, it seems to actually overclock and achieve a higher hashrate.
Any thoughts?
Drop that core clock and raise that memory a bit, ETH is all about bandwith.. ;-)
What's so unique about that 40MH/s+ BIOS? Is it some kinda of a hack?
Some basic changes memory wise.
Hey,
Some more historic info.
This card did 28-29Mh when it first got built a few months ago, which was completely stock.
When we were first testing it with nvidia, i did a small and simple tweak and i got it up to 40Mh+.
It is now selling with that small modification for around 500USD per card, that is if you can find/get it.
That initial 40Mh we got was indeed as i said with custom timings, also knowing that the prototype had only 4GB GDDR5X memory.
For your reference, the ones being built/sold have 8GB GDDR5X memory. (not that it will make such a huge difference)
Cheers
Edit: it is now selling for over 900USD..
Hi, Elio! Nice to see you again. So, now you are working for nVidia?
Are they going to release some bioses for gtx1080 or gtx1080ti with performance timings? Or just some hints? I've heard about a tool that can change something in nvidia bios and deal with signature check already.
Hey Buddy!
Well, i'm doing lots of things ;-)
They're not going to release any vbios related things regarding GTX gpu's, in other words, only "mining" gpu's will have the ability to be customized..
Any one of you can do that "in theory"..
Open up the vbios in a hexeditor, make changes (timings wise) and you can sign it here:
https://gfs.nvidia.com/I know i know, you can't just open it, make some changes and hope for the best.. It's a lot more complicated than an AMD vbios..
I'm sure some tools will pop up eventually to make it a lot easier..
Cheers!
Ps. i'll hook up my P104 one of these days again and do some more tests and share some screens..
