I would like to start mining for fun (ETH), and I will go with only 2, maybe 3 cards in the beginning.

If I understood correctly, these 5 cards mentioned in the Subject are best-buy at the moment?

I can choose between these cards for ~350-400$:
RX 470 4GB
RX 470 8GB
RX 570 8GB
RX 580 4GB
RX 580 8GB

What would be your choice, ordered from best to worst? I can also choose between different version of these cards, what should I look for when comparing them, memory clock?

Is there any better card in that price range?

According to this NiceHash calculator (https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator) NVIDIA GTX 1060 is more profitable than those cards mentioned above, but I guess that is for some other altcoin, not for Ethereum?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on electricity and what coin you would like to mine. nvidia is far better considering power usage.

Example: I mine ETH:

5x 106-100   125 MH/s overall consumes: 445W @ wall
9x mixture of RX470/480/570/580, 237MH/s, consumes 1190 W @ wall

But if you want to mine XMR, AMD is a far batter option.

I would go with the 1060 6gb for about the same price an get more hash power and use less Electricity. that said if the price comes back down on AMD cards go for it only because of the Price and the AMD driver lay out is great to me  over  NV driver layout but that's a Eye candy type thing .. and who cares if your mining ..... so over all go with NV .....

XMR mining to me so far it about = with NV or AMD ..... I don't know with Vega's that might be better . I'm gonna buy one or two of those later this year ... i mean this year 2018

Happy New Year everyone ..

lets hope the ass hole in charge of the world gets put under some kind of control in Nov ....an stops those annoying tweets .....I know he the President of our once great nation the US but the US does still lead the way and is losing it more and more every day because of that dick ....

Electricity cost is about 0.1$.

I would like to mine ETH, but if there is anything more profitable I have no problem going with that of course. ETH is more profitable than XMR on both AMD and NVIDIA, or I am missing something?

Here are more detailed options that I have:
RX 470 4GB: 350$ (ETH: 24 MH/S - 65$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 73$)
RX 470 8GB: 400$ (ETH: 24 MH/S - 65$/month) (N/A)
RX 480 8GB: 420$ (ETH: 25 MH/S - 69$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 79$)
RX 570 4GB: 360$ (ETH: 28 MH/S - 78$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 76$)
RX 580 4GB: 370$ (ETH: 29 MH/S - 80$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 68$)
RX 580 8GB: 420$ (ETH: 29 MH/S - 80$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 73$)
NVIDIA 1060: 350$ (ETH: 23 MH/S - 65$/month) (NiceHash calculator - 91$)

I am still wondering which coin would Nicehash mine with 1060 to make this profit...

According to this data, I should be getting RX 580 4GB. But I also know which cards have Samsung memory for sure, should I aim for that?

Is there any advantage for 8GB over 4GB, for future resseling or something?
