How do I pay this? I have bitcoin core 15.1 and according to Bitpay Bitcoin core should work but how? Shocked

I used Bitpay for years and now they think I am too stupid to send coins to a direct address?

Does your link look like this? bitcoin:?r=https://bitpay.com/i/Pg6Kwq...
Edit: Image wasn't showing...

Looks like this is part of a new Bitpay update that uses Payment Protocol URL instead of a simple Bitcoin payment address. Which is IMO something pretty dumb.

I'm not sure if there is any way to get the address directly. But that's what Bitpay has to say:
Quote
If you are using a non-Payment Protocol wallet or service to pay BitPay invoices, you will need to move your spending bitcoin to a wallet or service which can support Payment Protocol. We strongly recommend that you use a true bitcoin wallet for spending to avoid delayed transactions, but you will be able to use any service compatible with Payment Protocol.

I know mate. In their list of payment protocol wallets bitcoin core is listed.

But it doesn't work. This is really a weird decision by Bitpay.

Edit: CORRECTIONS

12/15/17: A previous version of this post did not include the Bitcoin Core wallet as a compatible wallet. We have updated the post. Hmm.

Okay, I've downloaded Copay. But now I have to send BTC to a Copay address to get it in my wallet? This costs me 2 times a miner fee (1 to copay and 1 from copay to Bitpay) Wtf!

Same thing with Electrum...

Why can't I just copy/paste my wallet.dat like in Bitcoin core?

Okay it worked. Transaction from Copay to Bitpay was really fast. But the total amount of fees I paid in Euro is ridiculous.

Have you tried to use the first tab (that has the QR code) and click the "Open in wallet" button? I did this and it opened my Electrum wallet with everything already filled (address and amount).

Edit: I just tested with Core installed and the same happened. It opened my Core wallet with everything ready to be sent.

Have you tried to use the first tab (that has the QR code) and click the "Open in wallet" button? I did this and it opened my Electrum wallet with everything already filled (Address and amount).

I tried the "open in wallet" option and Windows made the connection suggestion for Copay but nothing showed up in Copay. I copy/pasted the full Bitpay address and it automatically filled in the amount etc. It works great but the fees... And it is really fast. Like a few seconds.

I lock the topic now. Thanks for your help.
