Interesting that Thailand has made bitcoin illegal, even more interesting to see the latest Google search data from Thailand for bitcoin.

http://www.google.co.uk/trends/explore?q=bitcoin#q=bitcoin&geo=TH&date=1%2F2013%2012m&cmpt=q

Seems search volume has double in the last few days, important to bear in mind the large normal variance in these numbers however.

Oh he's a forum member... thought that might be the most surreal comment ever.

So true, lol.

This ban is interesting tho, I hope they don't lift it. The ban creates an interesting test case for what happens when a country attempts to restrict bitcoin, it should tell us allot about its long term viability when larger scale action is inevitably taken should bitcoin truly take off.

He provided us with the most interesting Drama lately, the whole Thailand thing is hilarious as it is. (Considering the infamous Baht symbol and Bitcoiners wanting to take it)
But with Goat on a vendetta against it, even while it personally might affect him, is ridiculous. It's not like anybody would look him up and charge him, should it really be the case.
No he just wants desperately to be right...

I've warned him that he is getting trolled from all sides, but he doesn't listen... might as well enjoy the show.

On the topic, well if it is in the news, people might look it up, even if it says it is supposed to be banned.

We concluded that Thailand did not officially ban bitcoin, but at the advice of a few members of the Bank of Thailand, that it might be illegal since Thailand law didn't cover it. No where did they publicly state that it was indeed illegal.

So there was a huge amount of controversy since the initial guy who spread the "news" created a bunch of FUD that ended up on countless media outlets
