I spent most of my day shooting video for bitbeing.com.  Bit being skateboarding by all the big banks in the financial distract and around Wall St.  I was hoping to edit it down tonight and put it up on the website.

Unfortunately my khaki bag with T2i DSLR, lenses, and the footage I shot disappeared at Water and Maiden in front of a T-Mobile store.  There's also bitcoin stickers in the backpack with other items.

I guess I'll check Craigslist every now and then?  Meanwhile I'll have to rebuy new gear and reshoot.

Can I blame this whole thing on bitcoin?   Angry

disappeared? you mean you put them down, walked away and when you returned it was missing?

have you tried contacting the T-Mobile store to see if a courteous person handed it in?

i know america is not known for this and it is more likely to appear at a local electronics pawn brokers or something.

but the main lesson to learn is that even in a public place with many eyes, its always best to never leave anything unattended

Yea, the problem is that most honest people wouldn't take it, even to turn it in, and eventually a theif is bound to see it...

Dude, you put down your bag, containing valuables, and walked away on the streets of NYC? Really?

I mean, I guess I dont know where you are from but as a native I have to say, this was not a well planned action.

The city is a lot safer than it once was but still, in this economy petty thefts are WAY up here.

There would be security video in front of that store.
