To be honest with you, the name sounds good because it's something which denotes the privacy coin in some way. Rebranding can't bring anything good in my opinion. Current name, logo and ticker is perfect in my opinion. Let's see what other thinks too.
What we need is to get partnered with different merchant if possible, I mean increasing ONION to be available in every possible place. For example, you can get partnered with Bitrefill if possible. Or you can ask some of the popular gambling sites whether they are interested in implementation of DeepOnion as one of their currency. I believe all these are possible if we have organized team for this.
I would consider rebranding as the last step if every other effort fails. As mentioned above and also in my previous posts, DeepOnion needs partnerships, there are many companies using crypto as a means of payment for goods or services (it is not difficult to google the list). They should be approached by the Team or maybe also via Domination tasks as the amount is big. But still in a polite and professional way, maybe some template to be created and agreed by the community.
Of course, most of the companies will probably refuse, because DeepOnion is too small. But even a few would be a success in the beginning. And if the categories of companies are chosen wisely, i.e. those where privacy matters and can be presented as an advantage, such as gambling, betting, dating, porn etc., then the acceptance of DeepOnion by them can be broader.
And of course, development, I remind again the roadmap and some big and important feature such as smart contracts.
If all the above is done properly and still no positive result in terms of community growth, healthy price increase and listing on reputable exchange appear, then the rebranding will be the last chance.
However, if the main reason for refusal of the partnership will be the current name, then rebranding will be necessary very soon. And not only from DeepOnion to Onion, but to something completely new.
