Hi Guys,

does anyone have experience in mining bitcoin and altcoin on the same linux box? My idea is to use my 3x7950 mining rig on litecoin or other scrypt mining while mining bitcoin with cgminer (I have some block erupters and FPGAs). I am running ubuntu 13.04, also I have only 4 GB of RAM. I did some test, got poor scrypt mining performance and am a bit worried about the long term stability when running two cgminer instances.

Any thoughts welcome. Ah, and yes, this is my first post, so have mercy Smiley

I would just stick to one coin. But if you mine bitcoins and your mining pool is slush's, you can do merged mining; meaning when you hash, your hash is compared with the bitcoin blockchain and the namecoin blockchain to put it simply.

Feeling generous? Like my post? Leave a tip at BTC: 1NZJ8cceqEiKDZGAJged2vNGCyfFMUEYPt
