So what are you looking to do exactly besides building the unit, which I believe are a few online with the RP.

i.e. what specifically do you want it to do for bitcoins?

That came to mind .. but was wandering if anything else was intended. I have limited knowledge of paper wallets, but seeing that theres several discussions on this, I would think there is something doable with this device.


Maybe setup a web server on the RP and a small, intuitive web gui that allows printing, etc. Wonder if anyone has started working on something like this?

I couldn´t check it.
If run in Linux and with some adjustments could works... fine..

using LaTeX (compiles a PDF out of some *tex sources) you can create nice pdfs with notes on it.

If you like you can give me the size of your paper and I can adept the sources so tthat the pdf fits your papers.

Note that the output of thermal printers is not very durable (5-10 years if stored in suitable environment, but considerably less if it gets too warm...) They're ok for supermarket receipts that you would throw away after a quick look, but I would not want to store a cold wallet key on thermal paper.

Indeed. Thermalpaper isn't very durable. Keeping it in you pocket or wallet is already too warm.
I'd prefer a small laserprinter and some fairly heavy paper (something heavier than the normal 80gr/m² stuff)
Laser prints are pretty much as waterproof as the paper they are on. It'll stay on the paper even when wet, unlike regular ink. And as long as the paper doesn't tear and you let it dry after it got wet, it'll be in usable condition. So if you put it on heavy paper (120gr/m² or so) it should last for a few decades at least.

Yes, but i think it could be usefull for kick transactions.
In example, attend to a Meet can carry 5 "Paper BTC" just print to sell.

Do you think taking a polaroid of the receipt would solve the longevity problem? It's not the best solution but if the photograph is clear enough I feel like it could work.
