These kind of questions keep coming from my friends over weeks and days. It makes me mad.
Why are we in crypto? To avoid banks and manipulative fiat money so why would I prefer centralized shitty ripple over digital gold bitcoin?

In the next 2-5 years, I think Bitcoin will still be the best cryptocurrency. But if you have less money, you can buy ripple and do a long-term hold.

Looks like Ripple is heading in some good places , But really comparing it with Bitcoin !! Are you serious ! Ripple idea and way is against everything a cryptocurrency should be . A friend of mine that is working in a bank was asking me about ripple just today and he is a guy that never know about crypto . Guess what ! His bank making him study Ripple for a possible partnership with Ripple . SO for sure Ripple is good project but it does not belong to crypto world and for sure comparing it with BTC is not a good idea .

That might be the initial cause for which bitcoin came into existence, but users here doesn't give importance to avoid banking. Majority of the users focus on profiting, so I don't think that ripple is shitty centralized and won't benefit the user community. Bitcoin is all about trust and surely the decentralized functioning will grow bigger than ripple.

How can you compare these coins? Bitcoin is the father of the crypto world, and he was built to decentralize the exchange between people. A ripple is completely different, it's not even a blockchain, it's just a company that wants to change standard bank transfers.

That is a very good point. Bitcoin was developed primarily because after the recent world financial crisis, which was basically a cash-flow crisis, something new was needed as it became obvious that the current instruments used for payment for goods and services were not sufficiently efficient.

Pure allocation (creating more poor and rich, destroying the "middle class") and very inefficient system of money creation - money being either issued by private banks which creates a system that can be sustained only by loaning more money in order to cover the holes/minuses in the budget (actually it can be covered by surplus in the foreign trade, but only if we observe individual countries, not world as a whole), or "printed" by Governments which, especially seen back in 80-es, creates hyperinflation - demanded a new system.

Blockchain was the answer to that. Of course that banks can use the blockchain as well, but banks have already shown to us that they are not a good regulator of money circulation.

Bitcoin will always be the option for long term holdings, because first and foremost it is the mother of all cryptocurrency that continue to rise and topped all the coins in the market. Except its high volatility I can say Bitcoin is a stable investment for long term. Ripple on the other hand is a good coin to invest too in a long term, cheaper to buy, less volatile and almost stable, but what separates it with Bitcoin is, Bitcoin can increase up to 100% in less than a month. If I have a huge capital, I will hold both Bitcoin and Ripple because this is two of those good coins in the market and I just dont settle into 1 or 2 or 3 coins only.

True, if you have a huge money why not invest in this two promising coin.
But, if your still need to choose among this two coin, then its still better if you gonin bitcoin.
Bitcoin come first and also built it reputation and trust of the investors.
It was also the main coin so far, so it was the one who have the high price in the market.

Bitcoin and ripple cannot comparable still bitcoin is the best investment  than other coins. When you plan to buy ripple it is profitable also you can hold this for a long term. The existince of bitcoin is still on top and its value is very high so Ill choose bitcoin than any other cryptocurrency.

The banks have already begun their war on BTC, but i wasnt aware they are using Ripple to achieve their victory. All i know is BTC is growing, giving the wealth back to the people. The banks will fight this to the death.

2-5 years is very long time mate. Can not wait till that long coming.
I think both coin that you mention above are very promissing. Invest in one of them is very good idea but investing in both is better than just invest in one 1 altcoin. In the time you talk, bitcoin will give you more profit but if you can take both profit then why just one.

For me to compare it with bitcoin, I definitely choose bitcoin. Because I think bitcoin has the movement of price fluctuations far and fast. This is great for trading and long term investment.

For me it's bitcoin the supplies are still many and it's potential for growth is very high. Maybe Bitcoin will still be the best cryptocurrency. But if you have less budget at hand, you can buy ripple hold it for a long time.

Forget Bitcoin or ripple, Electroneum is the future. Capitalizing on the insane demand and popularity of smart phones will be the future of cryptocurrency.
Does anybody actually use BTC as anything but an investment? This is not a currency anymore..too slow...too expensive.

for 2 to 5 years to come, I am sure ripple the best. due to investing in ripple need not be a large capital so that it could generate a lot of profit. whereas if in need of large capital bitcoin so, fortunately, could be promising

bitcoin I think more promising and lucrative when compared to ripple. Thus from now on better invest wrote on bitcoin and used long term. bitcoin would naturally be more promising in the future.
