You can always compare them, even if they are completely different. Is it useful to compare them, probably not.
BTC will always be the standard by which all other currencies are measured...even if its fundamentally useless at this point.

Holding both coin for the next 2-5 years is exactly profitable. But holding altcoin for that long I doubt that may be more suitable for short term. Holding Bitcoin for long term will likely profitable when the nexr 2-5 years.

In 2-5 years ofcourse bitcoin. Why ? Because ripple developer coin locked only 2 years and you know how many ripple issued ? 100 billion coin and also ripple is centralised coin. Its become big only because centralised entities joining in amex and other. Cryptocurrencies created not for centralised economy. The vision is clear bitcoin created for people so people can control their own money.

Bitcoin is the true decentralized coin and I believe in it.. But do you guys think it can find a way to improve its really expensive fees today? I also think twice about sending payments due to how long it takes to send payments. Still hope it will have a fix for this though.

I think bitcoin is the best coin. Ripple is nowhere near of it. I don't think that ripple can match bitcoin in future too. Only Ethereum has the potential to match bitcoin. Although, Ripple has pumped hard in recent times, but it can crash anytime.

BTC and ETH will last forever... while I'm not really sure about XRP in a long run... don't forget that XRP is a centralized coin...

Bitcoin and ripple are good but Im into bitcoin since. Bitcoin is the best and growth is increasing. I dont doubt ripple because it is also a profitable coin. When you buy or invest in bitcoin hold for it for long term because there is a big chance to gain more profit.

I will always choose Bitcoin. But if you are new in Crypto, choosing ripple is a good choice - it is new, and currently running up to the mainstream, you could easily gain profit.
