I'm very new to bitcoins and don't understand how it all works. I should have found out more before getting involved. I had someone working with me to help open my wallet.dat that is corrupted but he could only do so much. I've been told there is still a possibility that my coins can be retrieved with the help of a core Bitcoin developer I know that the BTree structure is corrupted and that the Berkeley tools are unable to read it. I am offering 7 bitcoins for whoever can help.

Depending on the corruption, there may still be a chance.

Where are you located?  If you are anywhere near Chicago, I'd be willing to meet up with you and attempt to assist.

If berkeley tools can't read it then your coins are gone. You could try pywallet but I doubt it would help.
thats not right, BDB is often pissed when in fact its only small damage, pywallet should be always be able to recover it unless its a huge damage Wink

He said the structure of the BTree is damage, that is major damage in my opinion.

Read the whole thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=258022
It will help you to scan your hard drive and recover any private keys it finds.
But really, read the whole of it. The user needed to be spoonfed, so there is a lot of "error" fixing lol
