My friend has a D3, the 19.3 version which suddenly (simple reboot after it had been running flawlessly for days) gives out thousand of HW errors. We powered the boards consecutively, and all of 'em appear to have the same problem, but to a different extent - as in not all of 'em are prone to the same amount of errors. This led me to believe that the control board might be the source of the problem. Alas, I tried the board from my machine, a 17.5 version that works without issues. Lo and behold, nothing changed.
The only logical explanation is that all 3 boards are damaged, in which case he's screwed. But I find it hard to believe that they all developed the same problem after a reboot. None of them are presenting the infamous xxx's, they just get pummeled with 60-80% errors. I'm at a loss here, can anyone give me an idea on how to address this? He even used a bunch of different firmware, nothing seems to help. His warranty is now void as well, so there's that. I'd appreciate any pointers, thanks.
//edit: btw, the temps at which it runs are somewhat high, but acceptable nonetheless. Around 70C.
