In what coin/token would you invest if you had to start now with $5000?

Hi to all and a Happy new year! May that 2018 bring you 50x!

As I joined the crypto movement last summer (August 2017) and managed to have a 4x on my portfolio till now, I saw a lot of changes and raises in the market.
Hearing about how a did a handful of my friends want to invest now.
I knew what to advise them back in...let's say September 2017, but now the market is a totally new beast and I'm puzzled.
So, that's why I'm asking you - "In what would you invest if you had $5000 right now?"

I would not make it with one coin. I would prepare a crypto basket for me and this would include different coins such as ETH, LTC, WAVES and BTC. If you like smaller project based ones, you can add ICO coins too.

You always want to diversify your portfolio, regardless of what you put your money into (be it stocks, crypto, land, etc.). With that in mind, I'd probably split my money between LTC, ETH, and BTC, with BTC having $3000 and LTC and ETH having 1000 each. We've seen that Bitcoin often rises when the altcoins go down, so by having some holding in both, you're able to assume a level of safety when one or the other goes down. Furthermore, when ETH and LTC go up, they're pretty explosive, so you'll end up getting some nice gains from that. I like to stick to significant coins based on their market caps so that I don't get stuck with a coin that can instantly drop dead.

To be sincere, I won't put all this money in a single basket, so I'll prepare a crypto basket for me and this would include different coins such as ETH, LTC, WAVES and BTC. If you like smaller project based ones, you can add ICO coins too. I won't afford to loss the money.

$5000 capital is big and for sure you can buy a lot of different altcoin.  I suggest to you buy altcoin who price is less than $15 because if you buy that you can earn a lot of profit for sure ecause once the price of coin less price become high you will earn more than the highest price of altcoin.  Here's the list of potential altcoin you buy in less than $15 waves coin,  qtum, taas and komodo and for sure you will be hapoy if you buy this 4 altcoin because for me this coin gives to us high profit because possible the price of that coin become hundreds dollars in the next few months and possible thousands dollars in the next few years.  But I suggest make a research first to make sure you choose good altcoin.

5000$ is a good amount, for me i'd choose to trade Iota, Stratus, Etherium, Bitcoincash, litecoin, dash and monero, This type of coins has a potential to earn a good profit, i will stick on it, no matter what happens:)

I would put my 60% money in holding long term on bitcoin, ethereum, ripple and trex. And the remaining 40% will be on short term trading.

How darn! Thats big money to distribute in the crypto currency. I would really suggest you to invest half of the portion into ETH this time because it is going to be ATH again. Before the year end people are literally speculating that this coin will go to 5K rates per ETH, and I believe in that speculation too. Besides this there are new emerging projects such as Verge (XVG) and also IOTA. We have seen them rising from the bottom to all in top 10 coins. So believe me they are on the verge of getting developed fully as well give us new prices.

As you have big investment available you can easily distribute this money into 5-7 different coins. I have full faith in XVG, IOTA, ETH and obviously in BTC.

I think i agree with you dude. Put eggs in one basket is more risk rather than split them into some different basket. Thats the wise sentence that i always remember everytime.
So i will devide into some altcoin like etherium is the most i like, waves, ripple, monero and litecoin. I prefer top marketcap altcoin.

$ 5000 is pretty good amount to invest in cryptocurrency. I would like to suggest to divide it into 2 baskets. 50% for ripple and 50% for bitcoin. Both of these coins have a very high future potential compared to other coins. For bitcoin, I think it's obvious. And for Ripple, maybe you can visit the official website and learn a bit about the coins as well as what their target is.

It is better not to rely on just one join. Try to diversify your investment, at least the top 5 or 10 coins that you think will grow in the near future.

It depends on the preference of every individual (some will not invest it into cryptocurrency). But for me $5000 is a huge amount of money and it's a good capital to start investing/trading in cryptocurrency, but if I have that huge amount of money I will not invest whole of it in just one cryptocurrency because that is too risky. What I would do is put huge part of it in Bitcoin and will look for a good altcoins for short term trades, (I will not recommend any altcoin to invest, you should do your own speculation), diversification is one of the best way to lessen your losses.

If i were given a chance to have $5000 and used to start my investments, I would choose to used it in different coins. Because I do believe that whatever coin were going to use im sure we can gain and have some profit.

Thats big amount for me, so I will spend it wisely in some coins instead of one coin only. Maybe I will use half of it hold bitcoin, 20% for ETH, 20% for Ripple and the other 10% for Stellar. I may change my choice anytime based on what is happening on the markets.

I prefer to invest those $5000 in bitcoin if there's only one coin to choose out of all because most prices of altcoins are sometimes dependent on bitcoin. Also there's a chance that you could get more coins in the future depending on how many bitcoins you have stored in your wallet.

I would say raiblocks  but too late,
2 months ago was 2000 sats and now around ~180,000 sats
so now I would invest in bitcore instead, because it gives 5% airdrop every monday
to maximize return, keep hodl for the next 3 months
to minimize risk, I would liquidate the airdrop every week
so even if bitcore price dropped 50%, I wouldn't lose in BTC term

if i have $5000 , i would invest on a lot of cryptos, coins like bitcoin , etherueum , Ripple , Monero etc. as well as pre-coins which i think that has a great potential to grow like DAC and NEX. 30% to bitcoin as it s more valuable than others and constantly growing.
