Due to BTC high price, we can see some altcoins can replace Bitcoin due to fast transactions. Which altcoin will replace Bitcoin ? ETH or Ripple or another ?

We don't know yet my opinion is that ripple won't be the one for sure. Try reading a bit more about ripple and you will understand why. Ripple is a bit centralized it could pump in price but can'tt replace bitcoin. Ethereum could potentially be the one but ethereum was build to fulfill another purpose - dApps. Who knows what will happen.

Ethereum transaction needs at least 20 seconds to get a single confirmation from the miners when ripple gives only 3 seconds for confirmation process in every block. Both was really possible to replace the bitcoin and the fastest centralzed system just like DAG hold the best scalability with instant transaction with zero fees.

XRP is a candidate though its a centralized coin i dont support it for a long term investment i just make some profits from its hype because traders are intended to take all opportunity to get more profits nothing more.

Its neither of the ETH or XRP really because they just don't have that much potential. I know they have the great scalability qualities but it doesn't mean that they will ave the user base similar to the BTC. Though they have advantages of scalability still we can see that they are juts bitting each other and not the BTC. Bitcoin has already achieved a market capitalisation which has achieved tremendous investor base and its not breakable so easily. For XRP, ETH to carry out the operation of hunt for #1 position they will first have to have the fixed user base which are making the natural investment into it and not the one which is just for the purpose of pump and dump of the coin and then earn money out of it. BTC has different work nature, people buy it and hold it for very very long terms due to its huge pumps. But these kind of pumps are not artificial but they are real investment with long term projection. Thats why BTC will be on top overtime.

The only one who can shift bitcoin is bitcoin cash. that what is happening now. but I think it will take a very long time.

Ripple though is one coin that would get busted eventually soon enough and it is funny that some people are using marketcap to judge and now, some who do not even know much about ripple feels it is going to continue this way. I guess we have to see how long the bankers want to keep going with their manipulations thus far.

I think ethereum will be the one, the price broke 1k for the first time, it's not too far off bitcoin but can still grow immensely, I feel bitcoin is much more capped in its growth because it is independent whereas ETH can grow off of the success of all coins using their platform.

IMO, ripple will not stay in number two and three for long. Ethereum should be returning to number 2 soon, the volume is picking up.

I don't think there is certain answer for that now because there are other coins like Tronix that came from the 68th position to number 8 in the world in a space of a month. I think overtaking is allowed when it comes to marketcap and any coin out of the top ten now can come into 2nd and 3rd position.

First of all, I am not sure whether Bitcoin will maintain the no.1 position or not. In the long-term, there is a chance that some of the altcoins (or even forked coins such as Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Diamond) displacing Bitcoin from the no.1 position. That said, the most promising altcoins to me are: BCH, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Gold.

People keep saying that bitcoin will die or be replsce by another but the truth and fact of it all is nothing will ever replace bitcoin. There can only be the 2nd, 3rd, and so on that every other cryptocurrency can be but not the number 1 spot.

There is a wide and old speculation that Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin and that that would happen by the end of 2017. But however, since that speculation started, somewhere during last summer, Bitcoin has gone far away from Ethereum. Now Ripple has surpassed Ethereum in market capitalisation. I personally think that Bitcoin will remain number one during 2018. Why? Because first of all I believe it will stay in front of Ethereum because it will enable smart contracts hence adopting one of the main Ethereum advantages. I also believe that the scalability problem of Bitcoin network could be solved during 2018. Finally, during 2018. many new users will enter the cryptocurrency (misnomer market and as always - they will mainly enter Bitcoin as they see it as a synonim for the whole market/industry. However, I also do believe that some of the altcoins will become very strong and thus Bitcoin's percentage of market share will slowly, but surely, drop. At the end of 2018. we can recap and speculate about 2019., right now it is too early.

Ethereum is number two coin of this crypto market and number one altcoin after bitcoin. Ethereum has power to challenge bitcoin in future but not now.

I don't think bitcoin would be replaced, even though the transactions are really slow and rather expensive. People stuck to it and now they are not willing to let go. They don't want to explore other coins and choose a normal one. That's the way it works. I believe bitcoin will forever be #1 and it's fair in a way, since it was the first one and thus the most innovative one a long time ago. As for #2 and #3 coins, I think ripple can be among them, but eth will eventually go down a bit, since it is still a problematic coin. I would suggest iota being #3 or #2 instead.

I guess Ripple has all the chances to surpass BTC capitalization and become the top-1 crypto in just a few months. So BTC can become the second place and ETH - the third.

That's what we thought about Ethereum as well . I think that by reaching number two Ripple has ended it's rapid rise for the time being. But even without being so I don't believe it has a real chance of surpassing Bitcoin in the near future, especially since many new investors will be joining the cryptocurrency world in 2018. and they will mainly go for Bitcoin, as usual. When I talk to people "on the streets" and ask them what do they think about the cryptocurrencies, they usually say: "oh, you mean Bitcoin...". I think that only when some other coin shows a rapid progress (and by that I mean showing some real value - like massive adoption), or only when the market will enter a more mature stage, with more or less majority of potential investors already in, Bitcoin will be surpassed.

In nearest future Ripple and Ethereum will compete for a 2nd place , but in long term I think they will compete with technologically more advanced projects
