So i wait for weeks, i finally am at the right place at the right time for the nowinstock notification where I get my order in for 2 6990's seconds from getting the notification. Credit card charged, packaged sent. I open the box and BOOM: 2 6970s in the box. Called newegg. Nothing they can do but say sorry and give me a refund. Sucks!
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Wow, that's complete BS.

If you want to set up a mining op quickly though, I'd keep the 2 cards and ask them to refund the remaining $1k dollars (assuming 800 bucks per 6990 and 300 per 6970) and start mining right away.

Then add the 6990 once they get them in stock & keep 200 bucks.

Two 6970s should have a higher hashing rate than one 6990.  I wouldn't necessarily return them.

Not really, if you OC the 6990.

You can get 410-430 mhash/s per core, about in line with what a single 6970 would get overclocked.

Specs wise a 6990 is two full 6970 cores as well (1536 shaders each).
