What's up y'all,

After obtaining a fair amount of safer cryptos, I took a chance on some smaller/riskier altcoins yesterday. Please let me know what you guys think of the potential pros and cons of any of the following. Price predictions, tech. commentary, anything you got would be greatly appreciated.

GRS - Groestlcoin
XLM - Stellar Lumens
OMG - Omisego
ICX - Icon
ADA - Cardano
SUB - Substratum
SC - Siacoin

Here's the thing, I wasn't able to get these on an exchange where I could set a purchase price limit before executing, I had to use an intermediary so I didn't necessarily get the best prices on them over the last 24 hours, but hopefully some of them will do well enough in the long run to make up for any minor buy-price variations.

I also hold a decent amount of my portfolio in BCH, do you guys have any opinions on its current stagnation? Perhaps building support before attempting a decent price increase?

Cheers and thanks

Can't fault your portfolio, it's really anybody's guess which coins will do well and which won't. At the current rate, if we expect trends to continue, the worst you can do after one year is to own a coin that's just stable in fiat price.

Regarding your BCH, yes it's stagnant, but it's really more or less following Bitcoin price, so... there's no harm in keeping it. If you believe them, they want to overcome Bitcoin, and if they're successful, you'll see appreciation.

Siacoin has really picked up beyond most optimisms too, of the coins you hold that's also the one I have confidence in.

Great, thanks a lot for the feedback guys. It's always good to hear some objective opinions on my subjective holdings. Really hoping SIA continues to do well, and really hope I didn't catch Stellar too late in the game.

Cheers

Got some of these coins myself and all should be fine.  Get some Bitcoin (the real one)
as well if you  do not have it already.

Those are fine picks, although, I'm not sure about Cardano, the coin doesn't have a working product but it is getting pump for some reason (?). Keep an eye on the price on a regular basis, just saying.

About BCH, I've never liked this cryptocurrency, but I can tell you that the stagnation has been going for a while now, altcoins have been going up a lot in the last few days except for BCH, this is either a lack of support from the market or the hype around has gone down. Either way, keep up to date with news regarding bch.

And I think Stellar is yet to reach its peak.

Love hearing the feedback and am actually kind of on the fence about BCH. Part of me feels like this may be a good time to add to the position if I have confidence in it (a bit diffident), otherwise I'm stubbornly waiting for a bit of an increase to sell my holdings and get some ETH or BTC with it. BTC and LTC are the two giants that I don't currently have in my portfolio, which obviously if I want to continue pursuing the altcoins I better stock up on some BTC or ETH anyway to use as currency. Should be an interested month to watch and an even more interesting year! You never really dwell on being able to predict the future until you find a passion like this where the future is everything.

ICX is one of my biggest hopes this year. also have XLM, OMG, ADA in my portfolio. as for BCH it seems to be oftenly used by whales in market manipulations, so i'm going to sell most part on the next pump.

omisago and loopring are very good project. big investors have important investments here.

I don't have an investment, but I like it. I think ZRX and RDN are an important supporting projects.

I usually dont fault any portfolio. I believe any coin listed on the coinmarketcap has the potential to spring surprises. TRON is a case in hand.

SIA is really bad coin, I just prefer tron coin rather than sia. Looks difficult moment for bitcoin cash, when another coin like ethereum and ripple is starting to blowing up the crypto and bitcoin cash gets a lot od down caused by the demand is moving towards ether and ripple.

I think you and me have different thought. I prefer to invest in lower risk but you choose more risk but higher chance for returning.
I normally choose more like etherium, waves, bitcoin and litecoin.

OMG, ICX, ADA and XLM are very nice ones but BCH is the most garbage coin ever existed. Get rid of it or you will regret for not doing so. The pumpers behind BCH is doing this BCH pump on purpose, there is nothing positive about BCH garbage fork. Be advised my friend.

Actually, we're probably not so different. These buys were my first time deviating from ether, bch, and btc. I have a fair amount in the less risky ones, but figured I'd roll the dice a little on yesterday's buys just for the action and to diversify a bit. I'm going to try keeping at least half of my portfolio in safer options and even if I reap some big profits on my altcoins, I'll probably extract at least some of the profits and put them in btc or ether.

It seems as though you bought those coins at a very high price if you bought them yesterday. I'm still holding onto my altcoins but buying coins when they went up 300%+ is kinda risky, though not to say you can't make profits. As a trader I can expect a big pull back if there's a big sell off for investors to take profit. Not saying it will happen, but just my expereience as a trader in a past.

You're totally right. I had been watching them for a minute, but by the time the buy actually occurred due to coinbase transfer delays, etc. many of those had begun to surge. I will definitely be timing my buys better next time. I'm confident with the buys, but absolutely, I could've gotten them at a much better price. Was about to rid myself of my BCH, but I think I may hold for a minute and see where it goes.
