Hi

I plan to send various amounts of BTC, LTC and ETH as I aquire them from Coinbase/GDAX to my Ledger Nano S Wallet. My question is about fees...

I know that there are fees when sending Bitcoin. Although GDAX charges me nothing to send Bitcoin to Binance, does that mean GDAX will not charge to send Bitcoin to my Ledger Nano S?

I know I should do a test send to make sure a small amount goes from any one place to another for the first time, but Im worried about fees adding up.

Can anyone advise me on these questions?
Thanks

Yes. GDAX withdrawals are always free. It doesn't matter where are you sending your coins (Binance, Ledger Nano S, to pay a bear...).

Thanks Tryninja

How do they do that? they just pay the fees themselves? Seems odd if they do! Is there anywhere else that does that?

Thanks

Yes. It's a marketing thing.

If you pay the user transaction fee, he will start using your service and recommending it for his friends. And having costumers is something more profitable in the long term than saving a few bucks in fees in the short term.

Seems odd if they do! Is there anywhere else that does that?
I have seen people saying that Gemini does the same. But I can't confirm.

Other than that, it's not profitable for other services to do the same and pay the fee for the users.
