Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency is known as digital money that is designed to work as a medium of exchange using cryptography. It is classified as a subset of digital currencies and is also classified as a subset of alternative currencies and virtual currencies.

As we see the price of Bitcoin sore over $6000, breaking all previous records, people are often searching high-level of opportunity. It’s a very difficult to say if or when existing coins will ever see anywhere close to the gains we’ve seen in Bitcoin and others, chances are they’ve already had their price spike (many followed by a crash) or they may never see another significant price spike. ICO’s seem to be the next venture for people looking to make a quick buck.

ICO
ICO or Initial Coin, is a fundraising procedure wherein a company entices capitalists who are looking for the next big thing in crypto by releasing its digital currency for bitcoin in return. It is vaguely similar to an initial public offering or IPO where a capitalist buys shares of a company, but this one revolves around crypto and it has no laws to go through. Although many, if not most, of the current and upcoming ICO’s will fail or simply not deliver what they claim in the future, there would be some that will rise to a great store of wealth.

Upcoming ICO

In ICO Coin List, the upcoming ICO will give you the change to read a bit of overview of the company and with their whitepaper before taking part on their actual token sale date. It gives the individual a prior knowledge about the token.

But with the hundreds of new ICO’s popping up how would one know which ones are worth investing in? There are of course several key things to consider when choosing an ICO to invest in, such as: market buzz and pre investor excitement, positive and abundant press, a solid whitepaper, credible business or partner affiliations, a competent development team, the total amount of circulating coins and how those coins will be distributed and used, and the ability to illustrate that they will actually solve a real-world problem with their vision and technology.

Researching these factors can be a daunting task when considering how many ICO’s are currently in the works, how much more are upcoming, and how much more will spring up over the next few years. Much like the dot-com bubble in the late 90’s which burst a few years later, the ICO market will almost inevitably experience the same type of collapse. However, just like before the dot-com bubble burst, a lot of people made a lot of money, and ICO’s are no different in that way. It’s hard to say exactly when the ICO bubble will burst but for now, it can be a good place to speculate and invest to make some incredible returns.

So, for those who wish to gamble in the ICO market, make sure to do your research and never invest more than you are willing to lose. And with that said, I’ll mention from my research my top picks for upcoming ICO’s and which ones I’m still on the fence about.

Tokens

A token is a form of digital asset that is being sold to the public during an ICO campaign. Usually, it is for other cryptocurrencies such as BTC or ETH. Tokens usually have no blockchain, they are just hosted on another blockchain.

Risks of Joining
In joining in an ICO, you don’t have the guarantee that your chosen token will succeed, it’s either with their ICO or in their future development. You should only invest what you can afford to lose.

Pre-ICO
A Pre-ICO is a newer phenomenon in the world of cryptocurrency. Pre-ICO gives investors the chance to buy tokens before the actual the actual crowd sale begins. Usually, it raises a much lesser amount of fund and it also offers tokens at a lower price with an essential bonus. It also uses a separate smart contract from the main ICO event. In this manner, the can avoid the mixture of pre-ICO funds with the main ICO funds to enable proper and easy account reconciliation and audit.

Ongoing ICO

An ongoing ICO is the ICOs that are active and are having their main token sale. In this site, you can find the ongoing ICOs, you can read the information about a certain ICO.
