Ethereum has to pass a few technical revamps yet, AKA forks. The most important is probably the change to Proof of Stake. When that happens the issuance rate will change. Any thoughts on how should it be determined?

according to a tweet by Vitalik Buterin

Once Casper comes out, ~0.5-2% annual inflation seems feasible. Once we add partial tx fee burning and if fees go up, may go to 0 or lower.

Oh wow, thanks for the answer! Normally I tend to trust Vitalik´s comments so this could be it. If it happens Ethereum is likely to rise heavily! I hope the implement some short of balance mechanism.
