Hello all!
I was recommended to come here from another forum I'm on to hopefully get some advice about my new service I'm establishing:
https://www.bitcoin-anchor.co.ukThe eventual goal is to slowly evolve it into a full UK bitcoin exchange. For now, the minimum viable product is simply to sell Bitcoin.
I've developed it because I've found it hard to purchase Bitcoins in the UK. A lot of options feel a little sketchy and definitely set a high barrier of entry to people who are new to Bitcoin.
I've spoken to specialists at HMRC and I've spoken to banks and legally as it currently stands there is nothing I'm aware of which means I can't open my doors to start accepting orders.
I also run another small business which is quite succesful, so currently have good relationship with our bank and also have experience establishing and properly running new businesses. My other small business is investing in Bitcoin Anchor to provide it with enough cash flow to be able to accept orders.
I've been developing websites and web applications for around 12 years and have experience developing credit based systems. I'm published in .NET magazine on website speed optimisations and search engine optimisation. I consider myself experienced enough to undertake this, and I'm well aware of the risks involved with such a service.
If anyone has any comments, suggestions or questions I'd be happy to answer them as best I can! The site is currently in sandbox mode as I wait for my bank account to be established. So feel free to play around with it and try and break it!
Thanks for reading!
Tom
