Hello,
I invested in some ethereum (not alot) and wonder which desktop wallet I should use. I know that it is more safe to have a hardware wallet but since my investment is so small I don't feel that I should invest in one yet.

Any suggestions? Why do you promote the suggested wallet?

If you need desktop wallet, you may use Mist. But note it needs to be in sync with eth network.

Consider using MyEtherWallet, it's online interface for eth wallets - no need to sync, easy to use.

What about Jaxx for example, would you recommend it?
