It's not too bad, actually, if you know where to look/know what's up (stay current)... Search for "escrow" services... Safer for BOTH parties...

needcoins: Being totally serious here; no one here takes BTC for Paypal (or viceversa) seriously due to the Chargeback scam where people get their BTC then tell PayPal: "Charge it back, I never got my goods." The seller's screwed with no recourse.

If you really need BTC quickly, you should sign up at btcquick.com

I was ready to buy BTC the same day once I got everything verified. In fact, it was probably faster than doing the BitInstant $ => Mt. Gox BTC method many use. As a newbie, you'd be limited to $250 worth of BTC purchases a day (if they're in stock) on btcquick.com
