1月4日，李嘉诚在集团周年晚宴上接受香港媒体采访时表示，现时不敢讲是否今年会退休，因为身体仍然过得去。对于被指拥有其他护照，李嘉诚称，自己从未去加拿大申请移民，有些人有两三本护照，不是安全问题，去旅行有哪个国家的护照就会方便。对于取过哪些国家的护照，李嘉诚说，拥有多个国家的护照并不出奇，公司生意涉及57个国家，哪个国家的护照方便，就用哪个国家的，但是自己从未申请过移民
