I'm sorry you sold out your stake earlier when the price was just $15.

However, a lot of people are in the same boat as you.  If you were asking this question today, and I know you're not, I actually read the thread before responding, I don't see how you can be too upset selling a small portion of your horde at todays prices.  So if I had 22 BTC (and I don't, I don't even have 10% of that!) I'd be tempted to sell 2 of them now.  That way if the price crashes you can still say you got something out of it and not have a lot of regrets.  On the other hand if the price goes to 10,000 USD per coin, you're still so rich you really don't give a shit about selling a couple of them at 850 USD.

Good Luck and don't stress over it!

It's one of this things where its easier to say "should have" after you already know.

If I were to sell 1 BTC right now, i'd make 400% profit on my BTC.  However, if BTCs were to go up to $10k in a  year, i'd be beating myself up too.  Or if BTC were to drop to $1...i'd be estatic that I sold.

At that point in time, you made the right decision.  No one has any way of predicting what the future will hold.

You win some you lose some.   There is no way to have the foresight to know what was going to happen 2 years later.   You made the right decision for the time.

I would wait to see how will react other sites, we can see that more and more places accept BTC as payment, as long as there are new places I think that value of BTC can only increase (especially if big players start to use it regulary) ...

+1. Wait and see is best approach unless you need money or buy something urgently. Big merchants will not miss the oppurtunity for new sales I believe

From what I have read, many people who have sold have come to regret it. That said, I have no experience day-trading and would refer you to those with more experience in the nuances of generating profit on bitcoin exchanges Smiley

I suppose one healthy method would be to reimburse yourself for any initial expenses, and select an appropriate percentage to convert to your currency of choice so that you have a sense of security, while keeping some assets within the bitcoin system such that your portfolio can continue to grow.

This is a 2011 thread that has been necro'd.

Bitcoin was dirt cheap before April 2011. Smiley
