Regarding group buys and Paypal and/or escrow

Hey guys, new around here and I wanted to ask a quick question.

I signed up with the intent of participating in group buys for mining devices. Some of these offer Paypal payment options. If I were to pay via Paypal and the devices were never shipped, would I have recourse to pursue a refund from Paypal say, 2 months from now, if the buy organizer bails?

Is it safer to just use John K for escrow?

Anyone have first hand experience with anything like this they'd like to share?

I would just use john k two months is a long time after buying to start a dispute.

Yep, paypal isn't exactly fair...  Use John K.
