There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Don't waste your time. For sure those names and addresses are all fake. The guy might even be in Africa for all we know.

It sounds really stupid but I have actually video skyped with this guy for numerous hours! If he is from Africa he is good and looks strikingly similar to his ID!

Sorry to disappoint, but there is absolutely no chance that someone who was planning to scam or to default on a loan from the get-go is going to give you accurate information that could easily be tracked down to him. What exactly happened? Was he buying or selling to you and what product was being transacted on Paxful to exchange the bitcoins? You are most likely not going to get anything back, even if you do somehow find him. The best you can do right now is warn others to not do business and to not trust this individual. Due to the nature of bitcoins, unless you have evidence and proof that you were, in fact, scammed, there is not much you can do other than file a lawsuit if you do happen to find him, but that might not be worth the effort or the costs.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.
