Do you have plans to release android apps? Would be great if i can check bitcoin price in many currency with daily chart as widget on homescreen Apps are coming however they are not top priority nor is there a set date for either ios or android apps. Thanks for your question and stay tuned, there are some exciting things in the pipeline. There are several apps that use the API and you can get the info that way. Mycelium comes to mind. A search on the respective app store will yield more.

For a long time this was a relatively inactive thread. I love the bitcoinaverage project. But to be honest if you're going to start bumping this thread everytime someone writes a blogpost I'm thinking I'll remove it from my watchlist. This just isn't very useful. I think that anyone who wants to follow your blog can do so through your blogging interface. I think that continuous bumps for it here just look kinda desperate. MHO.

Sorry you feel that way. We're simply trying to build a stronger presence and this is one way that we provide information for the community. I'll keep what you've said in mind as to not deter followers. The thread itself is a place to correlate all appropriate media coverage and information about what is happening in the BitcoinAverage space. The reality is, many users that use the forum may not sign up for the blog. This is just another outlet to keep our users informed and share our thoughts with the community. Your input is very much appreciated and perhaps a weekly or by-weekly post with all relevant coverage is more appropriate. Thanks for sharing your input.

When I see the thread is updated everyday and I come here just to find out that someone posted on a blog, and the blog isn't even about bitcoinaverage, it's just someone at bitcoinaverage commenting on other bitcoin news....Yes, I do think weekly or bi-weekly would be nicer.

Hi Tspacepilot, I'll ensure the thread isn't bumped for the sake of it, after all its primarily a medium for support and service updates. I hope you'll enjoy some of our current and future changes

Indeed, bitcoinaverage, as far as I can tell, is basically the best for bitcoin price. +the tools and api +the open source code. I'm a long time fan.

Price is frozen at 672.42 in the website, and the api is stuck at 671.78. It's been like this for a couple of hours. Current USD average should be 684.6

Must have been some temporary issue. It seems to be fine now. I see the current price at 666.55 USD as of 5 July.

Seems like Yen volume in BTC was very low. Now all of a sudden it's more than 7% of global volume?! Why is Quinone exchange not being ignored for it's zero-fee model, the way the bogus CNY exchanges are?

Why is Quinone exchange not being ignored for it's zero-fee model, the way the bogus CNY exchanges are? This is a very good point, and its something we are still working on. We will shortly be adding some CNY exchanges to the index, weighted using various new factors that enables us to spot which exchanges are operating "out of the ordinary" shall we say The reason Quoine were included is we ran their book against our algorithm initially and it didn't actually pick up any untoward behaviour (at least to the level of other unnamed exchanges). We will follow up with more detail on this via our blog when things are tested further, hope that answers your question at least for now

Hey Bitcoinaverage-Team,
hope this is not the wrong place to ask, however I have a question regarding your api (limitations):
As there are api request limitations (monthly) on most of your plans I was wondering how this is applied to websocket feeds?
If I subscribe to a certain feed, I assume I get updates pushed to the client?
How does this count against a monthly api limit.. is each push counted as a request or only the websocket subscribe?
Thanks in advance for any clarification!
Matt
