If you want to buy and not forget about it, go for eth , I believe it has the most potential to grow.

But for this kind of amount i would suggest smaller coins and check them every few months.

IOTA yes, it's a probability, RIpple? No I don't think so, we will see what will happen, because above 3$ ripple I suggest you sell all what you have and that even if you just bought it... if you bought ripple when the price was 0.25$ or even 1$ it's ok, but should still sell asap, because you'll never know when the banks will want to get the profit in bitcoin from ripple, when that happens, ripple could get even to 0.01$ what will you do then??? Also stellar is same shit too

That is a really difficult question. As you probably have observed, one week in crypto is a year in any other market. I think ethereum will still be there kicking assess in 2020 because so many projects are built on it. IOTA would be my risky option to try for large profits.

I personally really do not want to influence what your decision. You do as I do, almost saving $500 on both coins.
Now the price is not expensive, but we will see it in 2020. This would be a diamond in my opinion. The most important thing is Don't pull all your eggs in one basket.
I have some bitcoins and will not sell them until 2019 later. If the price allows it will continue to grow I will hold it.

Another coni you cold look at is NEO which is a safe investment and is likely to go up in 2018. Lots of new ICOs being released on NEO now so it will move in the same direction as ethereum - maybe as a competitor
