Hi everyone
I get some trouble using MultibitHD wallet. Since a couple of weeks, the password dose not open the wallet. I did not change it...
Using restore option, I get stuck on the multibitHD's window , waiting to synchronise with network (since 2 days for now...).
Obviously, it is not working.
I used many times the restore option from the local backup, using different older backups. Same problem, it stays stuck on the synchronisation window.
I cannot use any option to avoid using backup.
Maybe I can rebuild the wallet using the seed.
Is there any command line to rebuild the Multibit's wallet by scanning the global blockchain's database ?
If I create a new wallet with Electrum, using my previous Multibit's seed, can I use the same public Multibit's addresses to recover my Bitcoins ?
Using Electrum, I saw that I can build a new wallet using my public addresses, but it is a "read-only" wallet. How to get the bitcoins back in a new wallet ?
Thanks for your help
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

You need the private keys (not the public keys) to restore your wallet.
The seed from Multibit has that information.

Don't think you can simply import the seed from Multibit into Electrum since they don't use the same format.

After importing your keys, you should sweep your funds into a new wallet since your current one seems to be compromised.

That or you simply forgot your password.

You need to stop using MultiBitHD as soon as you possibly can... it is old, outdated and no longer maintained or supported by the developer. It is full of bugs and this "Password did not unlock the wallet" error is very well known. Undecided

https://multibit.org/blog/2017/07/26/multibit-shutdown.html

For the record, you CAN import your MultiBit HD seed directly into Electrum, as Electrum allows you to import BIP39 seeds with custom derivation paths... follow the tutorial video made by the MultiBit team on how to migrate to Electrum: https://youtu.be/E-KcY6KUVnY

Make sure you are using the latest version of Electrum (currently v3.0.5) from here: http://electrum.org/#download as earlier versions have a critical security vulnerability.

multibitHD is outdated is outdated, you should try this site www.daneel.io this can help you in overcoming all your problems this is the latest breakthrough site that was released in januari 2018, if I think when you do trasf to the wallet the new one is too panicked because the network is not supportive (forgot password or other advanced click error).
