Just starting a thread for the Aug 3 draw. Payment was sent to the July 6 winner. I think the most interesting thing about the July draw was the ticket that won was one of the last tickets bought!
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
Good Luck all those who enter.
Remember: -it's cheat-proof! I can not make myself win! The winner is truly random and can't be cheated by anyone! -only buy tickets with Bitcoin running on your computer -buy each ticket separately as 0.25 each -BACKUP your wallet!! Payment can only go to the wallet that sent the money
See bitlotto.com for all the details.

When will there be shorter lotto times? (ie: weekly draws) It will come as the jackpot grows. I think more people are playing because of the jackpot size. If I split it into say every two weeks *too* soon, it could more than cut the jackpots in half. It will come one day though!! I know one months time between can be a long time but I can't do it too early. One of the hard parts is I have no idea who is playing and how often or even what their opinion is about how they will play if I did it weekly, bi-weekly etc. Perhaps if it was every two weeks I'd get the same number of tickets sold but I don't know for sure. I'm sure thinking about it. But it will come one day!

Why not a concurrent (bi)weekly draw? Keep the mega-millions (of .0000 0001 lol) and have a smaller time window, but higher ticket? Just an idea.

Yes good idea. I did think about that too. I'm planning on maybe starting a weekly draw alongside the monthly one. Time commitment for me will be higher for a weekly draw but I think lots of people would enjoy it. One day soon!

I think more frequent draws would be good. The problem is the more frequent the less high the jackpot so the draw for more casual people will be less.
Just bought a couple of fresh tickets to increase the pot a bit to entice more people in.

How to know what your ticket is without using blockexplorer or if you aren't sure what one is yours: 1. Make payment first and wait for a confirmation 2. Close Bitcoin 3. Download https://github.com/gavinandresen/bitcointools/archives/master (very small download) 4. After extracting run with python: python dbdump.py --wallet-tx-filter='HASH160 20:3bf8' 5. The hashes after "==WalletTransaction==" are your tickets for the Aug 3 draw!!! (The 3bf8 part specifies what address you are looking up. The Aug 3 draw address converted to HASH160 begins with 3bf8...I'll try to remember to update people on what each one is as they come. Blockexplorer also gives that number when you are browsing addresses.)

I think there will be a weekly draw one of these days. Yes, send .25, just make sure to send with Bitcoin on your computer and THAT'S ALL you have to do. If you win, it will just appear one day. Just don't forget to back up your wallet! GOOD LUCK!

How often is the jr one updated? At the website both are updated in real time. It takes the data from the blockchain at blockexplorer.com. Sometimes it's a little behind but once it's in a block is should be there.
