News: BIP91 seems stable: there's probably only slightly increased risk of confirmations disappearing. You should still prepare for Aug 1.

Not sure if any of you will find this helpful, but I like this trick I did on Bitcoin Charts:

Take your favorite bitcoin chart and setup with candlesticks.  Now overlay the same exchange using the "compare with" drop down menu.

You will get the closing price as a line overlaying the candlesticks.  There is also a more prominent and separate closing price legend indicated by the blue box.

Here is an example:
http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#kgmtgoxUSDzrg1zig15-minzvztgSzm1g10zm2g25

Let me know if you found this helpful.

Best,
Stew

I like it. It kind of smooths out the price, providing the short term trend better. IMO

Thanks for the feedback, MKW.

Do you like using moving averages or any particular indicators with these bitcoincharts?

I use the 50 day exponential moving average along with bollinger bands. On balance volume is another indicator I use for confirmation.
