Hi,

Need guidance on redeeming a Casascius coin for BTC and other forked coins.  This is what I understand:

1.   I can import the mini private key directly into my Electrum wallet using the import/sweep function.

2.   I then move the BTC to a new secure Electrum wallet so that the mini private key can be used to redeem the BCH, BCG and SBTC.

What is the best/safest way to redeem the other forked coins after redeeming and moving the BTC?

Thanks

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You must find a compatible wallet and import your private keys there. I believe Breadwallet currently support SBTC, as for BCH and BTG, you have Coinomi.

Thanks. Still swipe the BTC into Electrum first or is it safe to redeem BTC, BCH and BCG into a single coinomi wallet?

I wouldn't trust them for my bitcoins even If no losses has been reported yet. It's not open source so It shouldn't be trusted that much. I suggest sending BTCs to Electrum first.
