bitcoin drops because of the reduced number of people who buy and invest in bitcoins. today many people are investing in altcoin because the amount of altcoin supply more than bitcoin.
At the moment the reason is that lots of the investors are moving towards Bitcoin Cash because they feel that bitcoin core doesn't have any future especially when the developers are on the fence about implementing changes to the block size.

This is a very normal thing, the price of coin is sure to go up and down, and if it keeps going up, it's going to be incredibly expensive, so it's understandable.
I agree. It is normal, that after a rise, correction takes place. Furthermore, the new year began, so the market need a few weeks to stabilize.

There are more UPs and Downs in Bitcoin, than at a Chinese prostitute house. But most of us are used to this, so this is not a problem for us. If you know how to change the instability you want, then it becomes your secret weapon for success.

If your line of reasoning were in sync, one would have expected to see the price of Bitcoin crashing way down to below the $10,000 price mark, but last time I checked, the price have been ranging between $12,000 and $17,000 and any seasoned trader would see that as normal and expected - markets usually enter into a correction after some significant movements up or down. It can be likened to the market catching a breather, before deciding on its next move!

Supply and demand, a little less demand than before so there's a small price correction at the moment. It happens frequently in the world of finance not just cryptocurrency. The general trend is upward. Even at this price we're at high price compared to just 6 months ago.

these swings are called correction, inflow and outflow of money. Now, many poured into altcoins , thereby increasing their capitalization and provokes a rise

I'm not sure about this but if this was true then we will see more bloody period from bitcoin value, let see after this week if what can be the
fate of bitcoin I'm still positive that it will rise back ahead and regain the support of investors looking forward to see another 20k$ and rise
up more than that.

I think Bitcoin is down because it is creating momentum to rise even higher. In addition, the increase or decrease of Bitcoin is the frequent occurrence that gives investors more opportunities to get rich

Everything that is happening right now is all part of the cycle, there will always be Bloodbath and Christmas time in cryptoverse. A wise investor/trader always have a strategy and set how much profit/loss they can take. Do not let your emotions affect your strategy or else, it could result to panic selling.

Earlier when the bitcoin reached at its highest value during that time many people were investing on bitcoin which increased the demand but then the Christmas and New year came and people start selling their holdings which decreased the demand very high and now the bitcoin is facing the fall in its value.

Looking as to why bitcoin is down
down and up it's like everyday in cryptocurrency but if you want to know more maybe it's cause the microsoft company not using bitcoin anymore didn't know why they don't use it anymore. but the price going down and up it's an usual activity for that just wait until the price back again

I don't think the current price fall is not due to that microsoft's announcement because i don't think that much of people using bitcoins for buying microsoft products. The price crash is maybe due to the ethereum price bump so people are transferring their bitcoins to ETH to make more money and I heard that there is a ethereum fork coming up at the end of January so people will receive free coins thats why more people are moving to ethereum but this price fall is not permanent the price of bitcoin will rise soon so grab some bitcoins when the price is cheaper.

The drop will be halted very soon as ETH is going ATH, many people will quickly swim back to BTC from alt/ETH.

At the moment the reason is that lots of the investors are moving towards Bitcoin Cash because they feel that bitcoin core doesn't have any future especially when the developers are on the fence about implementing changes to the block size.

There is very little evidence to say that this is happening, even if the early numbers at the end of last year seemed to suggest that. Bitcoin may have had its market dominance eroded over the last year, but if you look at Bitcoin Cash dominance, it peakes around 10% but is still floundering now below 10%. Even Ethereum, which had its run early last year and is at all time high now, can barely manage 15%.

It's probably true that a lot of people are at least temporarily switching to alts to move around funds, simply because of the Bitcoin network congestion, but I personally haven't seen anyone or any service I use abandon Bitcoin. Developers are not "on the fence", haven't you been following updates?

In fact, the period that Bitcoin Cash spent the most time and money actively trying to displace Bitcoin was when BTC was at its highest.

Looking as to why bitcoin is down
As Bitcoin prices soar for a long time many people own Bitcoin in bulk and sell it. When they sell all their Bitcoin at a lower price then this will cause Bitcoin to go down.

Looking as to why bitcoin is down

I did not keep up with market developments earlier this year. but I suppose a fair thing happens to the market, when it occurs in some crypto or bitcoin. yes all things are commonplace. so I guess the downturn is still at a reasonable rate. I believe bitcoin can survive and increase again

It is not new. Maybe you could see some history of it and you will find out that this happens most of the time.
Actually it is better now because it is not halved.
Before I use to panic that it might come to an end because of the history that it had going to a value like a dust.
You should be used to this by now.
I think many will agree with me.

CMC has removed korean exchanges from its calculations .
Bitcoin and other altcoins are not down, it's just that their average value is calculated differently .
