Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Sorry, there isn't anyone or a governing entity that can do something.  That is the nature of an unregulated and decentralized system.  You'll just have to think of it as a very expensive (and painful) lesson.  Crypto can make people paranoid, but to a large degree, some paranoia is good.

I've lost money carelessly too, but I didn't post here or try to get people to donate to me, just accepted the harsh lesson I was taught.

I agree.

Nearly everyone has lost money investing. Sometimes it's bad luck, sometimes is bad decisions.

There is no way to get your coins back, since the transactions can’t be undo or stopped. I don’t think the scammers will return the coins to you. Treat it as a lesson learnt and beware next time. Meanwhile, move on and try to earn the coins back.

No one can retrieve it, you are not the only one who had an incident like that. Make your mistake as a lesson in your journey toward cryptocurrency. Don't focus on what you lose, focus on what you have. Even if you don't have money to invest, you still have the ability that you can use to earn altcoins.

I currently have a problem with NEO that I downloaded from "Free Wallet".

I had kept nothing but IOTA (in its wallet) on my Android smart phone but all else was stored off line.

I downloaded the address of the NEO and confirmed SEND.  Grin

Went back to Free Wallet and noted that the NEO wallet was "Under Maintenance"   Shocked got back some canned messages from Free Wallet that does not give me any technical info about my specific problem. Huh

So if they reactivate the wallet, I may have my NEO, or it may no longer recognize the previous address for the NEO wallet. OR? they may have Ghosted my NEO>?

I bought these at $20, looks like it will take $100 to buy the same amount now.  Cry

The only good part is they were just a minor investment and with what has happened in the Crypto world the last month I can easily afford to replace them.  Roll Eyes

1DryVallley, our NEO wallet is currently under maintenance, which is why some operations might be temporarily unavailable. As soon as the maintenance is over, the notification in the app will be removed, and you should see the transaction posted to your balance. Apologies for the inconvenience!

With over 3000 confirmations it looks like those coins are confirmed with the new owner. This is bad because when scammers make money it encourages them to do more scams. Let us all be cautious and always remember to double check things

Stop crying and begging. You have no one to blame but yourself. Do you expect us to pay for YOUR MISTAKE? No. Go outside and make more money. No choice but to start again.
Its good you talk straight to someone so he can realize his mistakes but take it easy bro.
We all lost money somehow someday.
If we analyze the situation more its not only HIS fault about the loss.
The scam twitter account had 11k followers and it was the first that appears when you search deepbrainchain while the original has just 15k.
The official site is responsible too on this scam issue as it did nothing to stop this scam account that was live for a month or so.
The official site could have a VERIFIED account so everybody would know which one is the original one and they could REPORT on twitter all the fake accounts specially the ones that has thousand of followers(victims).
Many deepbrainchain fake accounts could be soon active ready for a new wave of scamming people.
Also the scam site had ssl certificate. That makes the company who gave a security certificate to them responsible for the loss too.
The company's name is GlobalSign and i personally talked to them. Every time they replied different things, once that a partner of them made the certificate, once that another company gave certificate, another time that its just their customer and they cant do anything but revoke the certificate, etc etc.
So its his fault and my fault we lost money for not reading around on the right time that this was a scam but there are other factors to blame also.

After all we bullshiting our selves we are a community, but in this community as it seems nobody knows each other.
Every coin has a community but in reality we know nothing for each other but addresses.

They could find a way to restore money from fraud accounts as they are still active and they didnt take the money out.
Im not the expert to find a way but sure it can happen.
the guy stole around 2millions and you criticize victims and say nothing about the scam and how we can make it safer for others.
