Nowadays cryptocurrency is already spread in many countries. With the spectacular upswing bitcoin had last year, it even made it to the prime time news on tv and on the radio. Broadcasting on these media is the best way to make crypto mainstream. But social media is the new way to spread the news and since last year millions of people must have heard about Bitcoin on social media. It's a fact that today Bitcoin is known all over the world.

Well, the media can help alot in spreading information about bitcoins/other cryptocurrencies, but the problem I am observing is that there is alot of negativity about cryptocurrencies in news channels, etc. mainly about bitcoins. I mean alot of them are just showing that people lost their money through investing into bitcoins and stuff like that. I don't know why they don't show the advantages of cryptocurrencies. Social media like youtube, facebook, twitter and reddit can play an important role in spreading info about cryptos and it is doing that.

Well, the media doesnt participate into making it popular but we have the internet now.
It is spread all over the social media and other forums. Also with blogs and other websites that is being paid for advertisement.

I do think that is enough. Why? Look at the world now. It is like everyone now have a smartphone and are online all the time. The world is changing and the news now can also be seen in social medias with shares.

As we all know that crypto world is increasing rapidly but still to reach each corner of the world about crypto what can be the media?
I think telling a friends and family about this is not enough.
You have to convince the media to report something that is beneficial to cryptos and is actually going to be something that sounds good for the community in whole if you want them to report anything at all. Fear sells, telling people bad news and all the things wrong with the world is going to get a lot better results than telling people about the good things that are happening. There is nothing "good" to report about cryptos, in the media's perspective, aside from when it tumbles down and a lot of people lose their money. It's pretty terrible, honestly.

Spreading information by word-of-mouth is the most effective thing that can be done right now.

All the mass media should speak about the crypto currency, which we are observing. I, for example, first heard about the crypto currency from the plot on TV. And it's great that the whole sphere is gaining such a crazy popularity and everyone is talking about it.

Yes simply telling our friends about bitcoin is not that easy.  Well as of now, it gained so much attention when it reached million as per our currency.  I have watched about bitcoin on our local tv station.  They warned others about the scam and some showed what bitcoin is. Now it is gaining popularity here in our country.
I have discovered that telling my friends about bitcoin is a waste of time they will go to their graves claiming bitcoin is a scam and there is nothing I can do to convince them, if you show them proof that bitcoin is going up then they say it is a bubble and that cannot be maintained, if the price is down then bitcoin is crashing according to them and if the price is not moving then this shows lack of interest of the population.

When Bitcoin first appeared, many people talked about it in IRCs, mailing lists and forums like Bitcointalk.org. These online meetups were often where people first heard about digital money in the early days. These forums were used to spread the first adoption and discuss how to manage the network. These social media hotspots became the first breeding grounds for Bitcoin. Forums such as the P2P Foundation, Bitcointalk.org and Linux Foundation lists were used to discuss the new idea. Another extensive directory of computer activists was the Cypherpunks Mailing List. The list of associated members began in 1992 discussing computer science, the advantages of cryptography and software use-cases. Today, Bitcoin is a global phenomenon and you can track its exponential rise on several more social media platforms. Now, users on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit discuss cryptocurrency on a daily basis. Significant announcements and discussions take place in these online forums. As a result, the value of cryptocurrency solutions is way more prominent. Even development teams and cryptocurrency projects operate their platforms around social media
