Just got a USB miner (330mh/s) and want to mine alternates specifically. Please comment all coins you know of that I can mine. I've seen a couple but I have no idea if they are sha256 mining (as I've been told is what I need). If you know a site that is updated weekly or daily with such a list please comment! I appreciate it guys.  Smiley

Use a site like Where to Mine(http://www.wheretomine.com/) and list by $ per day after calculating.

Currently shows PPCoin, Freicoin, Terracoin, and Bytecoin.  I know there are others like Zetacoin but I don't have much faith in them, I only pay attention to ones listed because they're actually worth mining.

If you only want to mine alts my pick would be PPCoin.

Darn very few are sha256 I see...Is there any miners that are relatively inexpensive for mining scrypt based coins?

Sigh...I can't figure this stuff out again. Tried getting mining set up couple months ago and no luck. Again same thing. I am using a macbook pro I purchased in July of 2012, the smaller one, no retina display. I don't understand all this command stuff and whenever I've tried downloading and then typing in the "codes/commands" it doesn't work. Again having that trouble. I am trying to mine PPcoin using my macbook and the USB erupter plugged in. Any help please? I feel really stupid right now, just like last time I tried setting up this mining software. I am also trying to pool mine with Fixx PPcoin pool if that info is needed.

I'm sure if you look rly hard you can find some 7950s for ~$200.

People are selling their GPU's left and right these days.

For that you should look at maybe a 7870 - will do about 300kh/s scrypt/ - 400mh/s sha256

That's if you want a new one.

Why downgrade for the same money? 7950 is a better card all around...
