Is anyone planning on getting family or friends a Bitcoin related gift this year? I was thinking of getting some physical Bitcoin as gifts for people to hold on to, hopefully it's a present that keeps on giving. So guys, what have you got planned.

So guys, what have you got planned. buying a physical 1BTC is expensive ( https://www.casascius.com/). you might want to get a physical LTC instead ( https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,5223.0.html). Way more reasonable and the price will continue to climb. or get some of the USB miners for no more than 10-15 bucks. Won't make u money but it will introduce them to the network and make "some" coins. Just depends on your budget.

I don't see any singles on the site either sadly.

No singles on the site. The only other way to purchase singles is through merchants on the forum, Ebay, or Craig's List.

As for purchsaing LTC physical coins, I'm not so sure about it being profitable in the future. No one can predict the value of Bitcoin tomorrow. The same applies to all crypto currencies including Litecoin. TBH I doubt Litecoin will become succesful in the future. The world can barely handle Bitcoin. What makes you think they're gonna jump on board with Litecoin? I can assure you that the majority of Litecoin users are those of us that are already extremely familiar with Bitcoin.
Edit: Fixed some typos.

I would get a cheap usb miner. Nothing excites people as much as making free money (especially when as a gift you don't have to worry about ROI), even if it's pennies.

That would be pretty awesome, better than just a BTC and also cheaper.

Phys-coins and USB miners are sterling cryptocurrency gifts, we really need to foster more usage to get more potential adoptees, putting the money in their hands is far and away the better option than proselytising the intellectual arguments. One of the most common complaints you hear is how much hassle you have to go through to get hold of Bitcoins, "open an account" for people and then see what they say and do.

Paper Wallet maybe ?
Maybe paper wallets with a "gift certificate" like appearance would really work for some, it would help to relate it to a concept they already accept. Perhaps get a "Bit-Gift" logo that Bitcoin retailers could also adopt on their front page of store windows, some people identify well with this sort of "stamp of approval" concept. Just as long as it doesn't confuse the overall crypto-coin idea for them at the same time... sounds like a good commission to tender out to some thoughtful graphic designers.

This is what BIPS can offer in regards to "gift certificate" by sending to an email not know in the system. https://bips.me/claim/BIPS-BTC-MBA80-B34CC-DCF57-2251ELets see how quick this one gets redeemed. I do however really like the design of our Paper Wallet. And I think it could be a perfect gift for someone. Saying similar to (Save it for a few months, and it might be worth 10x the amount, you'll never know!)

I have been setting up a vanity address with 1BTC for my neices and nephews for their birthdays.
I just e-mail their parents a card they can print out with the public and private key in the card. Adding in the e-mail what they can do with it.

I've done the same, but have yet to gift the coins. Will be interesting how much they are worth then!
