Hey guys, I decided to take my first steps in the cryptoworld after some research. Had been investing on etoro en with a friend.

Now I hope you can help me with the following question.

I have eth on coss.io and would like to transfer a part of it to gate.io, but do not see whether that would be possible / how to do that.
Is that even possible? Or can I only trade ON the website where I have my wallet / cash out from that website whenever I want $$?

Thanks!

Maybe that is possible and there are ways to do that. With some other coins in a wallet can be transfer, it maybe in the wallet option just try to explore. But unfortunately i don't have an idea how.

Sure you can do that, just use the withdraw function on coss.io and put in your gate.io deposit address!

For me, Id rather withdraw my funds first from coss.io to my MyEtherWallet rather than a direct deposit to exchanges from exchanges. Well that will work I guess but for me, Im kinda comfortable and "safe" if I will put my ETH first to my own wallet before depositing it to other address especially an exchange.

Since it's ETH, it's best that we control our own address as sender before sending it to external address (exchanges address in your case). This will take a much gas fees but not that much.

Your's to decide.

#I chose that way because Im not familiar with the legitimacy of both exchanges mentioned by you

Word of advice, avoid transferring funds to an exchange before you get verified to make sure you don't get locked out of your funds in future!

If you want to transfer you must have ethereum wallet and address in gate.io never try to send to other coins wallet like bitcoin or litecoin then you may lose your ethereum. But as far as my knwledge MEW is the best wallet for ethereum so you can get MEW wallet easily but don't forget to store your private keys which is essential to access your ethereum later.
Or you can keep your ethereum in coinbase wallet too and it is easy and convenient than MEW.

Its possible but based on what you described, its more comfortable to transfer it first to a wallet that supports ETH like MEW before moving it to gate.io. Because if there's a issues moving your funds from both trading, more likely it would take some time to be resolved. And if you transfer if you to MEW, you can control how it can moved, if you want it right away, you can just increased your gas price. As compare to transferring between the two exchanges, which you don't have total control of your funds.

Try to use a sub wallet for the transfer.
Use an ethereum wallet to receive the ETH tokens, and then resend them to the destination through the ETH wallet.
Just double check that the eth address is correct to prevent any lose of funds.

I am not familliar with the site that you are using , but make sure that you are clicking on the Withdrawal button( if it's an exchange).

yes you can, the easiest way that you can do is to encash it first and deposit it into the new wallet that you wanted to transfer if you can't see an automatically transfer from coss.io to gate.io.
Maybe theres a little bit charge on en-cashing it but I think it is reasonable fee if ever.

Maybe it is possible, you can also check on the website or in the Google and one thing that I know is that their is a transfer fee on transferring. You can also transfer it to your Ethereum Wallet and then transfer it to your designated wallet. Just explore or search some info on how to transfer beetween wallets. So that you won't have a regrets on following other people.
