Problems using electrum on airgapped computer (Mac OS X)

I?ve installed electrum via USB to an airgapped Mac laptop running high Sierra and the software won?t open. I can?t get command line or GUI to load. I?ve looked all over electrum docs and have not found any help. No matter what version I try , nothing works. I can only get it to work on computer with internet connection. Any help would be appreciated.
